Corner of motherboard obviously bent, sticky residue on the backplate, thermal paste on the CPU cover (not mine, I haven’t even opened my thermal paste tube yet), and skewed ADD_GEN 2_3 slot (honestly not sure what this is but it’s pretty crooked).
I’m still going to finish the build and see if it works (but if I’m wasting my time, let me know please lol).
Will be sticking to new products from now on 🙁

You got balls buying open box from newegg.
They just scammed me with. DOA 7800x3d and said they never got it int hier return warehouse.
I filed a charge back, next day they found it and lied and said it wasnt the same serial number as the box and sent the problem back to me as resolved. I’m done with newegg. After 20 plus years, the Chinese ruined it

Open box stands for returned but not found as defective. Ultimately the criteria to deem a product defective or not definitely vary by vendor.
Not defending Newegg especially here, they’ve been pretty scummy, but if the motherboard functions appropriately then the product is indeed “open box” despite the *ahem* visual flaws.

I would not power that on. With the bent board that badly it may have damaged traces and could damage the CPU. Return it and buy a replacement from somewhere else.

I requested a return with Newegg and will be mailing it back to them today. Purchasing a new one from Best Buy here today as well. Thank you for the advice! Will definitely not power it on lol

Just don’t buy used or open-box or refurbished from Newegg or Amazon. They don’t give a damn about quality and will just send the box back out without a second thought. From what I’ve seen only Best Buy and Microcenter seem to actually care about the quality of used products, and even then it varies from location to location and experts can miss small details.

Man open box on the main functioning (and expensive) pc parts are wild. I will never buy a preused mobo or psu because if those go wrong you’re fucked. I bought an open box 4080 for $300 under MSRP and I got lucky. However, I don’t think I’d do it again
