I found this car (on the left) and I really like the look of it so I went looking for it as I own every car and I don’t have it, except I did, it turns out these 2 cars are the same car and I think that’s ridiculous and I wish I could change the one I own to look like this one

Because they had to ship this game. They planned car customization, but they didn’t have the time to implement it along with everything else and so we got what we got. I want it too – maybe in the sequel.
The blue one is my favorite and I steal it more often than driving my own…
Someone said it’s an engine limitation which is fucking stupid. They make the damn engine…
we should be able to steal cars and sell them or at least claim thrm as ours forever
This game needs more bikes and more convertible cars.
At least I modded a few bikes to better ones but it would be great to drive on Night City on a chopper.
There are mods for changing car skins to others you find on the map
Nexus mods has a rly good upgrade/customization mod
They ran out of time, you couldn’t even customize your character after the intro at launch. And you can’t even really chrome yourself out much even now
Mods are great
Not sure, mods do it fine so it’s possible. Perfect opportunity was when they revamped how you bought cars but I think they just don’t care and it’s not a priority for them
You know the answer why
Shion Targa looks so good
Upgrades can’t happen because of the limitations of the RED engine. Something about car/bike speeds being too high and things stuck onto the core models not keeping up. Sounds like bad programming but when you remember this engine was only ever intended to allow you to move at the speed of horse the fact we have motorized vehicles at all is impressive. Especially compared to the other fantasy game engine that got hacked into sci-fi that just never implemented vehicles.
As for no cooler version, yeah that sucks. I wish you could actually own every variant provided in the game. I want that black Kusanagi without having to resort to mods.
Because every car in Cyberpunk 2077 is a completely different car from every other. Translation: a black Caliburn is a car. A white Caliburn isn’t a black Caliburn with white color. The black and white Caliburns are entirely different cars. Different files. The cars in Cyberpunk are not modular, they each are individual immutable cars, that’s why you can’t customize a car, the game doesn’t support it.
I have a mod that lets you change thru all the skins in the game for whatever car you are currently driving, it’s great
At launch your primary communication with fixers was them texting you information about used cars they were selling along with some background about the car and why they were selling it. All the cars you can buy in game were explicitly modified by their previous owners (acknowledging that this kind of sort of fell flat when you saw the same car in traffic). The lack of car customization was a little disappointing but kind of sort of made sense given the compressed timeline of the story.
With Autofixer, it’s my opinion that it makes the vehicles feel less unique. Though it is much more convenient.
If we had a night city mechanics that could upgrade any vehicle would be nice
I think one of the biggest casualties of this game being unfinished was the lack of vehicle customization, imagine GTA5 style customization for cars!!
I love this game and all but boy is it ever full of questionable design decisions.
I’d kill just to be able to paint cars.
I use the car modification shop mod and it basically does that
Also we should be able to get a flying car

There’s a mod for that.
