I find it a bit too uneven. The gaps are too big on the sides, also when the important part is covered. Still thinking it would be better if the sides are a riny bit closer. This time i just used the 5 dots paste technique and was surprised how well it spread (did that also once in the past). And this time i used Thermalright TR7, my NT-H1 was empty – noticed while applying a bit. I‘m changing from MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 to Asus Z790 Dark Hero DDR5 (refresh board). One of the reasons was crashing XTU tests – no bluescreens (ok i got one once) – just a message „CPU/AVX stress test failed“ after some minutes. Didn‘t matter if i locked PL (253/288/unlimited watts) or set RAM at lower speeds/voltage (XMP 3600: SA static voltage 1,35 / 2666: adaptive SA voltage). All with standard settings. At UV or using XTU auto AI leads to the same results, CB 2024 was crashing (not at defaults) and XTU was almost always failing. I got 96GB 6800 (2x48GB) from G.Skill. Let‘s see if this combination is somehow better for the 14900k. Or else i would even have to RMA it, i‘m already in contact with Intel. This was the first time i bought a CPU (or even PC part) at release day. If nothing changed much, it should be a ripe apple was my thought. Usually buying at earliest 3-9 months after. Wish me luck (also because my first Z790 Dark Hero got stolen – happy christmas -.-)

I had this same combo and didn’t like the temps I was seeing even when limited. I picked up the Liquid Freezer II 280 and it’s working like a champ.
