Gameplay: 3 players per squad, 24 player squads in a map with assimilation to 6. Players can exfil at any time. While you are exfilling, a large horde of zombies will approach. When the helicopter actually arrives, zombies will swarm the plane and can even get into it a la the tranzit bus. There is a 60 minute time limit, aether storm pushes people starting at 45 minutes. During the final exfil, a massive boss zombie will spawn that youtubers have been saying will take more than 2 teams full with wonder weapons to kill. Special story missions can extend the timer to 2 hours (any specifics about this are unknown).

everyone spawns in at T1 zones outside the map. In T2 zones, you’ll run into minibosses but get more points and better rewards. The T3 zone (which is in the middle) is supposed to be really hard and simulate round 50 zombies. For a comparison, you can run over zombies in T1 zones, but not in T2/T3 zones. Pack-A-Punch (which is 5k-10k-15k) upgrades depend on the zone. T1 zone will only have level 1 upgrades, but the T3 zone will have level 3 upgrades for example. Solo gameplay is extremely hard, but Treyarch is looking into ways to make MWZ more “solo-friendly”. Plates and tier 1-3 armor is back. Armor is gained from drops. Weapon rarities (green – blue – purple – yellow) are back in its entirety. Wonderfizz is on the map. New drops like full armor (all old powerups are back as well). There are ammo creates and buy stations scattered across the map. The buy station however does not have a bartering system.

Schematics: Schematics are craftable upgrades. If you find enough schematic parts around the map, you can spawn in with something like a perk every match. Cooldowns are confirmed to exist with wonder weapon schematics though (an example given was 48 hours per raygun usage). [List of Schematics](https://twitter.com/MargwaNetwork/status/1711086150499385849)

Extraction: Extraction works exactly like other extraction shooters. Contraband weapons and insured slots come back. Wonder weapons, perks, pack a punch guns, weapon rarities, etc can be extracted. Wonder weapons can be given in “cases”. You can open the case or you can save it for the next game. Possibly similar system with perks where you need a “perk can”

\-Story: set in 2021. Viktor Zakheav invades Urzikstan between mw19 and mw22 and grabs vials that the Requiem heads had stashed. He accidentally starts an outbreak after throwing one. Task Force 141 and the CIA are part of “Operation Deadbolt”. Zakheav hires a pmc called Terminus Outcomes, which is led by Jack Fletcher. Both CWZ and MW characters will appear. Story is told through missions.

On launch, there are three sets of missions. It is similar to DMZ in which you can choose the missions, but you can only choose one. During the match once you’ve completed the mission, it will automatically go over to the next one. At the end of each set, there is a special submap mission that is away from Urzikstan and is created specifically for missions. The missions also solely contain your squad. The first mission involves having to download Terminus data and protecting an NPC while you exfil with her. Characters involve Soap and Ravenov, as well as Barrera, Greene, Kapoor, Dobbs.

\-Scorestreaks: cluster strike, sentry guns, precision strike, and juggernaut

\-Returning Grenades: Kazimir Mechanism and Monkey Bombs are coming back.

\-AAT’s: All CW AAT’s are coming back. A new AAT, Shadow Vortex, will also be added. AAT’s can’t be found from pack a punch, however, but rather are randomly found.

\-Perks:

\-Juggernog: increases health from 150 to 250

\-Death Perception: can see zombies but not humans through walls. Objectives can be seen easier as well, making the spores (which can be extremely hidden) in infested strongholds easier to spot.

\-Quick Revive: revive teammates faster, doesn’t heal faster

\-PHD Flopper: dolphin diving (even on ground level) causes explosions. No fall damage.

\-Speed Cola: increases reload speed

\-Elemental Pop: likely the same way it works in CWZ

\-Deadshot: Unknown

\-Stamin-up: Increases running speed

\-Tombstone: drops a tombstone for your next game to regain your loadout

Perk upgrades are not coming back, but some perks are retaining their full abilities from CWZ. Perks can only be lost if you fully bleed out.

\-Field upgrades: Healing aura, toxic growth, energy mine, lightning links, frost blast, aether shroud, frenzied guard. Ring of Fire was leaked but was noticeably absent from the build played at CodNext.

\-Wonder Weapons: Raygun and Wunderwaffe (described as being op) are returning. The Wunderwaffe can be pack-a-punched but doesn’t gain any new abilities and feels similar to Vanguard’s version. A new WW is called “The Scorcher”: shoots a high-powered beam that kills zombies infront of you. It can also launch you into the sky to redeploy. All the wonder weapons can be found in the mystery box. There are higher chances to get a wonder weapon from th box the longer you stay in a match.

\-Easter Eggs: all around the map will have smaller easter eggs. No main quest easter egg in Urzikstan.

\-Progression: MW2/MW3 guns all have mastery camo grind. [Current list of weapon camo challenges](https://twitter.com/MargwaNetwork/status/1711072307308040323) // [All mastery camos for zombies](https://twitter.com/MargwaNetwork/status/171004198384107948). In the build youtubers played, weapon leveling was extremely good. One person got 15 levels in one 60 minute game.

\-Human Enemies: humans and zombies will fight each other; you can lead zombies to them and easily kill them. There are three tiers of human AI: Mercenary, mercenary specialists, and warlords. Armored Convoys And Helicopter Convoys also appear around the map.

\-Zombies: Mimics, mega abominations, manglers, hellhounds, and disciples return. Abomination can now spawn explosive zombies. Zombies also have 3 tiers: normal, lightly armored, and heavy armored. The big boss enemy at the end of exfils is called an Orcus.

\-Vehicles: All vehicles in warzone will make their appearance, with the exception of helicopters.

Strongholds: Strongholds return. There are “infested” strongholds, which have cysts you have to pop in order to get rewards, and normal strongholds, which have normal enemies. To access normal strongholds, you have to clear out an “encampment”. After you clear a stronghold, you get a fortress key. You then fight a Warlord, a human boss, in the fortress. Warlords include the Chemist, Maestro, and the Rainmaker. Possible other ones include Juggernaut, Hammernaut, All-For-One, Chemist, Gunslinger, Maestro, MD, Phalanx, Rainmaker, Rush-Hour, Shadow, Pyro, Vera, Shield Maiden, and Trap.

\-Contracts: give a random reward and points. Some of them shown were:

* Aether Extractors where you disable aether extractors,
* it appears there is one involving a dark aether motorcycle that gives you a sick cool motorcycle?
* “Outlast”, where you activate a “PND” and have to survive in a small area,
* deliver cargo from DMZ,
* escort the ACV: literally same as Outbreak
* eliminate HVT: literally same as Outbreak; HVT Disciple was seen in gameplay.
* Weapon Stash: literally same as DMZ
* Relic Hunt
* Zombie Control
* Sabotage
* Defend: Defend an area for 3 waves that are seemingly on a timer.

\-Post-Launch: “looking at a lot of stuff post-launch”. New maps, etc. Easter egg quests will be present on the new maps. Roundbased maps are returning in some form. Treyarch knows the fanbase wants them, and believe they will be “satisfied” with the plans in the works. New intel possibly added every season. There are also seemingly new cinematics every season, as well as new mission in season 1. The “Sticker Book” will be updated at least in season 1.

\-Easter Eggs: Easter eggs and sidequests will be all around Urzikstan; apparently there’s a large amount of them. Easter eggs will tease storybeats and tease some of the mainline easter eggs coming.

\-Misc: Jump pads that work the same way as outbreak (jump in the air to get essence). Aether crystals are around, same with caches. Gas masks are also present. Aether rifts are around the map that allow you to redeploy. The outbreak orbs are also back. MWZ can be played in third person. Death Machine and War Machine come back, with the War Machine being able to be pack a punched. Gersch Devices allow for long distance teleportation. There are large cannons around the map that use zombies souls to create massive blasts that are accessed via keys. Aether tools are back but can only be gained from contract completions. The intel system may return. A “Sticker Book” may also make an appearance, which has challenges. Carpenter may return, possibly with a new ability. Pay-2-win aspects in the form of “buy bundle to get x every match” are returning.

    No fall damage is crazy. We don’t even need parachutes anymore!

    Do you die if you don’t exfil, or can you survive for as long as possible?
