Vista wasn’t that bad. As far as I know a lot of people just didn’t have the hardware to run it.
If I recall correctly they even did a test with a resin of vista and they liked it. They could not tell it was vista.

Jump from W7 to W10 was kinda shit, the image viewer is so much slower and can fully crash pc 🙂

If by hardware lock you mean tpm, then I’m glad it exists, so that I don’t get automatically updated to the steaming pile of horsedung that is win11, It’s more akin to a safety feature imo, and I’m also glad the upcoming win12 will probably have a subscription model, so that again my current install probably won’t automatically update to that downgrade
