How do you know there is a Linux user at the bar? They will tell you.

  1. Linux user: I like Linux.

    Average Windows user on PCMR: HOW DARE YOU?

  2. thatfordboy429

    Still one of my favorite scenes on a movie. Sums up the world so well.

  3. SerinceMatet

    *gets bingo card out* Ok PCMR, we’re looking for:

    * “Linux users are the vegans of….”
    * “I’ll switch when it runs 100% of the software like Windows” (which doesn’t don’t kid yourself)
    * “I don’t want to spend time configuring….”
    * 3034034 lines of code meme.
    * LTT video reference
    * Information that is….10+ years out of date
    * “Linux users will tell you” (will leave the title out, but open for a comment)
    * “I use arch btw”
    * Reference to anti-cheat not working (as if kernel anti-cheat is some how acceptable to have on a computer)
    * BONUS SQUARE!
    * Talking about Nvidia drivers in Linux with no actual experience.
    * “I used it and…” (did stupid things, blamed linux)
    * Hasn’t actually used Linux, has opinion.
    * Shits on MacOS for no reason.
    * Complains about OS War on PCMR
    * Anything comment with the word “Circlejerk”
    * Mentions trying Ubuntu or Mint, wasn’t exactly like Windows therefore Linux bad.
    * Straight up misinformation / fudd lore

    I’m 7 squares short of a 5×5 card, so come up with some of your own!

  4. Uncanny_Apparition

    Windows users really getting upset at free operating systems eh?

  5. Chakramer

    I feel like there’s more Linux haters around than Linux spreaders.

    Linux is just “OS building” if you want to draw a parallel to PC building vs prebuilt. Some people want something that just works out of the package with minimal setup or hiccups.

  6. little_man_studio

    Dunno, never told anyone in IRL I use Linux unless they ask me to fix their Windows PC (because, you know, I’m in “IT”). Then I just tell them “I don’t know Windows and use something else” (fixing Windows issues is annoying as hell).

  7. DeIaminate

    I see more people shitting on Linux than people talking about Linux. You’re part of the problem.

  8. sidusnare

    I’ve never had a Linux user tell me that at a bar.

    I’ve been told they were vegan, went to Harvard, went to Georgia Tech, were bi, were mormon (which was really weird), played {insert sport}, all sorts of people opening with sharing lots of strange personal information, but the only time I’ve ended up talking to a stranger in a bar about Linux, it started out talking about our jobs.

  9. eldelshell

    When your reddit memes take more than OPs attention span to load, you’ll care that Linux is less bloated.

  10. Pretty much everyone is a *nix user. They use their phones and PlayStations without even thinking about it, as there’s no need – the thing just works.

  11. AnotherBrock

    If Microsoft keeps shoving ads down our throats I think people will begin to care

  12. TheDugal

    Less bloated? That’s cool. But it got no ads at all too. Not on login screen. Not in the start menu, not in the email. Not Xbox notification coming out of nowhere cause I forgot to turn it off. Doesn’t even have the little notification on the taskbar telling me it’s raining or the economy is getting worse. Nothing.

  13. placerind

    I use them both windows and linux, what is your problem ?

  14. DesertFroggo

    “Hey! Those Linux users! They say the darndest things, amiright amiright?”

    “See? Nobody cares.”

  15. atleast im not seeing ads on my login screen.

    i just, how? how can you defend a spyware(for which you are paying) with your life like wth.

  16. OutragedTux

    So, another bloody “let’s dump on linux to get attention” post, eh?

    I use it myself, I don’t go on about it all the time, I don’t randomly blurt it out to strangers, I don’t sing its praises from the rooftops. I just use it and like it.

  17. Scroto_Saggin

    Wow, what an original thread / joke 😛

  18. Reddit_BPT_Is_Racist

    Windows users constantly complaining about windows every hour. Linux user give them a viable alternative. “OMG LINUX USERS CAN’T GO AN HOUR WITHOUT MENTIONING LINUX!!!”

    I use windows on my gaming pc and linux on my laptop and server.

  19. Atomik675

    Tried to install mint and I gave up immediately when my pc booted up to a command prompt instead of the loader that was supposed to pop up. Windows already does everything I need, I don’t really want to mess with it yet if I’m already having issues.

  20. Linux is useful when you have to set it up once and not touch it again.

    Like home bas, 3d printer server, Klipper, home automation etc

    Windows is the best for daily use.
