The devs who designed and created this city deserve so much more praise. I’ve never played another game that comes close to Night City in terms of art direction and details in the architecture

  1. I really really hope they use the same city in Cyberpunk 2. they’ve created such a world it deserves to be used in more than just 1 game in my opinion.. Plus if they use Night City again they could use this time saved to make it even bigger, add some new districts and a ton of interiors and make it feel much more alive than they ever could if they make a new city and start from scratch again

  2. Sadly we barely scratched the surface of it in the game. I really wished they gave a lot more to do in a rockstar style, with random and hidden events

Seriously. I can’t stop taking pics in photo mode, just walking around admiring the atmosphere and attention to detail. It’s my favorite “open world/large map” I’ve played.

Too bad they’re so protective over it they won’t even add a flashlight because it might compromise the feel and atmosphere.

Now that the team moved to Unreal 5, Night City is about to get a whole lot more beautiful.

best video game city and it’s not even close

It’s beautiful. I dind myself often walking the streets and looking up admiring the view.

It’s an exceptional achievement. I highly recommend, maybe when you’re doing new playthroughs, to not rely on the minimap as much but try to navigate based on your knowledge of landmarks and streetnames. It’s rough going at first, but soon you’ll be able to drive from the Afterlife to the Sunset Motel with your eyes on the environment, and pick up so much more detail and cool architectural touches because of it.

Fr, the design of the city is just perfect, so perfect that I don’t ever use fast travel. It’s just scratches the itch so well for a fan of cyberpunk as a genre. Last game, besides Cyberpunk2077 ofc, where I felt like that was The Ascent – another gem of a game for a cyberpunk fan btw.

    This.

Unless they are the same devs who thought adding anything but scripted sandstorms then it balances out.

I love the city. And when they move to a new engine, I hope they fill in the empty places that weren’t completed due to time constraints.

It’s absolutely beautiful isn’t it? The people. The languages, the culture. I feel so included. And the fact that a black man wrote this, makes me feel even more included and excited. All of my sci fi fantasies, my dystopian, my robocop dreams, my everything. I really live this life. I run and listen to the OST, I have two tattoos, I have been awaiting this since 2012 – I’m not a gamer, this is my mental escape. And it everything I’ve ever dreamed of. I thoroughly enjoy this game man. I really do.

yeah theres a lot you can say about CP2077 but you cannot say it doesn’t have one of the coolest settings out there

Cyberpunk got fucked over by executives and everything the devs worked on is amazing. Im still pissed devs were getting blamed for the shitty release

It the side streets with the crumbling older architecture nestled in between the mega buildings that sold it for me. Whether in Watson or the ones discovered in Santo Domingo, those are what cemented the world for me.

The Phantom Liberty/Dogtown expansion just improved on how deep this world can go.

  16. Hey can you tell me where you took those shots? They’re amazing and I’d like to take to take some of my own. They’re beautiful

  17. reshstreet

funny enough, whenever I play cyberpunk I usually gravitate towards the badlands and the outskirts

Agreed. Also cool: installing the Let There Be Light mod. Not so much for game play, but to just cruise around in the sky of NC.
