So it makes sense why removing Verdansk would’ve been controversial, it was a very balanced well rounded BR map. Activision shot Vanguard and, Warzone Pacific by extension, in the foot with that move. Also, when Warzone Pacific launched it was a buggy and unplayable mess due to the fact they didn’t merge Vanguard into Warzone properly. In a vaccum, Warzone Pacific was really fun. Caldera was an excellent BR map, it look visually intresting (which was a problem I had with verdansk, very dull looking), it still had Rebirth Island and they gave new attention to Rebirth in that phase, and Fortunes Keep was an under-appreciated masterpiece, probably the best thing in Warzone Pacific. When Warzone 2.0 launched they removed Rebirth and Fortune altogether and rebranded it to “Warzone, Caldera,” without giving Warzone Pacific a proper Halloween event, and the even they gave as a conclusion, well, it was lack luster too. And yes I do acknowledge that the Warzone Pacific story line got completely ridiculous after a bit but it was kinda funny and it works if you view it as Butcher going off his rocker. In the future I hope they bring Caldera back, I think it’d work as an Outbreak experience in Black Ops 2024.

The elevated terrain on Caldera offered more tactical and strategic challenges that made gameplay more interesting.

I miss the sounds of insects and birds.

If they bring Caldera back you would have to pay me money to play it. No way i am setting another foot on that shitty ass island ever again.

Caldera was a terrible map. Glad it’s gone.

  5. It wasn’t my fav map of course, but it certainly wasn’t as a bad as was said.

It’ll be the same with the new map. It’s hard to suit everyone because of the styles and skills involved person to person.
