People calling things obsolete usually are just parroting someone else or do it for click bait. I’m still using a 3080, and despite people saying my VRAM is obsolete for modern games, I’m still running new games fine at max settings (besides for the DLSS crippled nonsense games)

I can’t quite work out what I’m to do. I’ve just gone from 1080p 60hz (no freesync) to 1440p 170hz (freesync premium) and my card went from “absolutely fine for pretty much everything looking good, even with a bit of headroom” to “oh shit wait a minute’.
I’ve got a friend who keeps telling me to just fuck it and get a 4070, I’m also tempted by a 7800XT… But also I feel like I can just ride it out.

Tech doesn’t truly become slower, new things just become more demanding. If you just want to play Fallout 4, BeamNG Drive, My Summer Car, and Project Zomboid (my favorite games) the Steam Deck will never be obsolete
