I’ve had this pc for 8 years now. I used to download hacks for games back in the early days of when I had this pc, but I **don’t** do that anymore. I did two scans with malwarebytes, and I deleted the items in quarantine for removal. I did a full scan using Microsoft Safety Scanner, and it found all of this. It shows that it removed two of the malware. But, it shows that the rest are only partially removed. Is there still a way to get rid of the rest besides reinstalling windows? I would really appreciate the help. Please **don’t** criticize me. I already know that this is bad, and I’m doing my best to fix the situation.

Scan again and see if anything changes.

Just reinstall windows. Once you get any malware there’s always a risk of something staying behind to reinstall itself at some point. It’s tedious and takes a couple hours, but if the PC is 8 years old it’s a good idea to do it anyways to get rid of bloat.

Just format. No way you’re getting rid of all that

You could try again the safe mode, but otherwise a reinstall may be necessary.

When you know you’re infected it’s a good idea to do a full reinstall. Who knows if the detection rate here is truly 100%. Even if you manage to remove all traces of what you see there can still be something hiding in the background, attached to other processes.

Malwarebytes free scanner will do you good. Hitman Pro free scanner will get the rest. The paid version of Malwarebytes is good and not too expensive. You can uninstall both when you’re done if desired though.

Sorry to tell you this but Windows Defender isn’t to be trusted to keep you safe. I’ve tested downloading some “free” games and some wanted to access internet while playing the game. Defender didn’t even detect anything. You can ask IT at work or sometimes there are free promotions get decent Internet Security.

Look up a program called Tron. It has its own dedicated page on Reddit. It’s a very powerful script that should get rid of every malware on your machine.

Wow! And just about all of them in your WIN32 directory! If you feel that the OS and the data that is on the same storage is worth saving then you may need to download multiple scanners (paid and free) to perform multiple scans on your system with one at least being on constant monitoring for any threats that are still around but dormant. This takes time, effort and cash!

The simplest, cheapest and straightforward way is to format the whole drive or drives with the malwares and viruses. That is if you can afford to lose the data on it.

Hi everyone, I really appreciate the advice from **those who gave it**. I’ve decided to reinstall windows by using a usb flash drive, and I plan to do it using the Microsoft [way.](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO) I already have another flash drive with the information backed up. If anyone wants to make more suggestions, I would appreciate it.
