My son really wants a gaming PC. He mainly plays apex legends but would use it for school too? We know nothing other than Xbox One X lol. He thinks he wants this one but to me seems like there would be better options out there? I’m sure this has a markup for the YouTube name

Hello No-Satisfaction-1414, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

If building a PC with your son is an option, you can put that exact system together for half the price – https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sbqjn6 – (they list a 120mm tower cooler in the specs, not the 240MM AIO that’s in the picture, if you want that, add another $50-60 to the price) and even include a full price copy of Windows 10/11 (but I’d just get a grey market key for $15). Alternatively you can make selective upgrades to that system (5600X instead of 5500, A770 instead of A750, RGB ram for that all-important bling, etc) and still come in well under Apex’s price.
Or, if you want to spend the full $1200, you can build a machine that will outperform the living daylights out of the Apex one.
Absolutely not. That thing may be worth 700$ at most.
I’d suggest looking up how to build one yourself, and having him be apart of the process would not only be incredibly valuable knowledge for both of you, but I’d imagine it’d be a fun bonding experience.
Use PCPartPicker as a resource to scrounge together some compatible parts. Consider your budget. There are plenty of incredibly helpful YouTube tutorials that cover building one.
I’ve bought 2 PCs from iBuyPower and they have been great. Plus customer support has been helpful when needed and the warranty is good for peace of mind.
Damn, I love simply Ashton but I guess he’s gotta make his bank somehow. Something tells me he isn’t actually part of the “apex” group and is simply sponsoring .
It would be such a fun bonding experience for the two of you to research and build a pc!
