I ordered all my parts from New Egg since there isn’t any good PC stores near me. Everything arrived early but the SSD, so I ran to Best Buy to get one and cancelled my new egg order. I was mid build streaming for friends, assembling the mother board when I opened the Samsung 990 Pro and the packaging was just empty.

Flabbergasted, it took years to finally be able to do this and in an instant the entire experience has been tainted.

Return to best buy, return the ssd and ask/demand for a refund saying it came empty

Last two things i bought from best buy online looked like they had been opened when they got to me.

The first item, a motherboard, was doa and i exchanged it at a b&m best buy, the replacement worked fine.

The second item, a wireless mouse, arrived with the box ripped up like it had been carelessly opened and repackaged, it was not in a sealed bag.

The mouse cursor freezes on the screen every now and then until i hit the mouse 2 button. Since it only cost 10$ and i dont have a car and dont want to spend the money to hire a ride to best buy, i just kept the mouse.

I used to recommend best buy to everybody. Now i dont order anything online from them at all, there are plenty of alternatives.

    Newegg otoh, has been great.

Bought a new SSD from best buy’s account on eBay once and received an empty packet in the mail, no box or anything. Took multiple attempts of claims to get a refund since they didn’t believe me.

I thought mine was empty as well but there was two of the “white parts” of the package a d it was in between them! Worth a try to check.

I open the boxes of stuff before I walk out of the store. It might seem weird to open something at the register as you are buying it… but think how easy it would be to show the person at the register the boxes is empty, the product is wrong or damaged etc.

Just bought a 2.5” SSD at Best Buy. It was in the big plastic case and couldn’t check the seal. Got to the register, she took it out of the box and the seal was broken on the SSD. Told them I wanted one not opened. Ran to the back and grabbed another. They can stick it back in the box and maybe someone else will buy it but not me…. Fool me once….
