I think Mr. Blue Eyes is under the effects of a doll-chip.
Many people have theorised that he is a “representative” for AI beyond the Blackwall due to the fact that he can be seen at the end of the Peralez questline and the implication behind some of the dialogue between V and Johnny that occurs after speaking with Jefferson for the last time.
I don’t think there’s any contention behind the fact that Blue Eyes has some large involvement with AI, but I just wanted to point out that I always wondered why Mr. Blue Eyes was called that and I could swear that they changed his eyes after the 2.0 update. It was only after my second playthrough for Phantom Liberty that I realised his eyes are now IDENTICAL to that of Skye / Angel’s when they are under the effects of the doll-chip.

I could be mistaken about the change to his eyes but regardless I cannot shake the similarities between them. Especially as it would go a long way to explaining why he would be working for AI, because its not that he’s working for them, he is one of them. Or rather this man’s body is being controlled by an AI that presents itself as this Mr. Blue Eyes individual.

Idk his eyes look the same as before.
In PL So Mi talks about cyberware becoming too advanced and certain AI would be able to possess people via that cyberware.
Blue eyes just means certain cyberware is active, it happens to Jackie and takemura in the game, and maybe some other people too.
I think he’s simply possessed and his cyberware is always active.
Doll chip or AI possession, either way I don’t think the actual person is in charge of what they are doing.
I think he is working for Alt honestly. I think alt was lying about not being able to cure V because she realized after the arasaka raid (especially if you don’t fear the reaper) V was the only merc capable of doing the crystal palace heist and would need leverage so that V would do it hence not curing them so blue eyes could offer that cure. Plus we know that blue eyes was helping So Mi and we know Alt was keeping a close eye on the whole songbird situation. Either those two are direct enemies or they’re working together.
I believe Songbird calls him a Proxy, like the woman that Hanako uses to reach out to you in the motel.
ever wondered if when talking to the doll at clouds we are talking with the same entity that controls mr blue eyes?
The AI could be possessing him using a doll chip.
As far as I’m aware, we’ve been pretty confident he is some sort of proxy for years at this point, it just got more or less confirmed in PL
Running theory last time I looked into it is that he is a proxy avatar of one or more Wild AI’s from beyond the Blackwall
Its interesting to note that it has displayed interest particularly in those who have experience crossing the Blackwall, and with manipulation or human memories and personalities. Avoiding spoilers as best I can, some PL content implies that there is an entity on the other side of the wall that wants to loose rogue AI’s onto the realworld exclusively by taking over vaste swathes of the human pop
Might be nothing, but in the mission where you steal the first car for Capitan and he gives it to the cops, one of the cops has blue eyes for a second as part of the conversation.
Anyone noticed him standing there watching you met with the political couple? He’s just stands there, staring….
One could say he’s indoctrinated, even
After main game and PL, I am fairly convinced Mr. Blue Eyes is a proxy for an AI that wants other AIs to come into world of matter. I wonder whenever he represents AIs that want to SkyNet humanity or Dalamain-kind of AIs that simply want to live here.
Maybe Mr. Blue eyes is just costantly paying and getting paid hence why his eyes are always blue.
I started thinking this as well when you see the homeless guy near the end of Killing Moon with the same blue eyes but looking very different. Kinda feels like a situation similar to Agents in the Matrix.
If I had to guess, I’d say he’s an entity being controlled by Militech. In the no coincidence novel, it was revealed that >! Militech had a project going on where they were researching a way to make autonomous AI/human hybrids that could be controlled remotely. It was also revealed that they were able to manipulate memories and emotions. !< Considering that’s pretty much what happened to the Peralez in the Dream On questline, and that Mr blue eyes is watching from afar when you last meet Jefferson, my bet is that he’s working for Militech via brainwashing.
Hello – resident tinfoil hat wearer chiming in. Praise Gary for his words are true. Alpha centauri and all that jazz.
My actual point is that I firmly believe that Mr. Blue Eyes is Richard Night’s engram in Blackhand’s CLONED body. See dorsett subquest (night foundation ai tech), and then there’s of course everyone’s most hated argument: Blue eyes’ hair is classed by the game as “blackhand_hair,” which is indeed very minimal evidence, but perhaps not so much so that we just write it off?
I thought the theory was that Blue Eyes was always an AI, that had taken over a human body in the same way Saburo takes over Yorinobu using the Relic
My guess is he’s an organic-AI fusion like JC Denton in Deus Ex Invisible War, not human but not a machine either, a fusion of the two, contrasting with soulkilled All-AI like Alt.
Yes, proxy = doll. That is the reason for the entire AI speculation.
My theory is Mr. Blue Eyes is a Proxy for the unknown named son of Richard and Miriam Night. Night Corp was behind the Peralez’s and other with Operation Carpe Noctem. Remember on the TV News when the Orbital Air spokesman blamed Night Corp for V and So Mi’s attack on the station? To me, that accusation came out of nowhere – like what did Night Corp have to do with anything? There has so be some secret war going on between them. What if Night Corp is indoctrinating public officials in order to gain control of Night City politics, even posed to win with Peralez, and those in control of Orbital Air represent the corrupt and wealthy, i.e. all who disagree with whatever vision Night Corp has for Night City, and they are seeking to establish their own, greater power base = dominating space. No one could get to Tycho Station or the Crystal Palace if not thru Orbital Air, so they’re in a good position to be the head of a corporate faction.
Richard Night is dead and Miriam would be old, but we know they had a son. But of course the son wouldn’t expose himself ever due to the nature of the secret corporate war, so he would use a proxy. My other argument for this theory is the easter egg-esque Parallels between the Nights and Night Corp and Batman and the Wayne Foundation. Night Corp like Wayne Foundation isaa interested in public development and doing good. Makes me wonder who owned the Black Caliburn hidden out in the Badlands like a Bat Cave. Remember the note next to it? Sounds like whoever owns it sees himself as a hero in a position of power with a responsibility to clean up Night City.
