Releasing a next-gen game early is fine, but then at least come out with a decent warning or system spec sheet on what minimum GPU requirement people should have.
Games like Alan Wake 2 come out with a spec sheet that doesn’t match reality, Cities Skylines 2 has unoptimized settings for different configurations where you run at 20-30 fps without tweaking on recommended hardware.
Now you have consumers buying games that either run bad on their hardware or they are not sure if their current hardware really supports it. Also, as a developer you should ask yourself if you want to release a game that doesn’t support the mayority of hardware that people have.

Great, gamble your money on a game put out by a multi-billion dollar corporation that can/have KNOWINGLY released a shit game/bad performing game and on top of that? Did a review embargo- making it malicious in my mind.
There’s zero benefit to preordering a game, none. I don’t give a shit about pre-loading, since it’s a gamble you can just be wasting your time and energy downloading trash that you shouldn’t have supported – even if you can refund it.

I once warned a work colleague about Battlefield 2042 looking suspect and next time I saw them they pre-ordered the deluxe edition.
