Personally I was hoping for an expansion where V finally finds a cure and doesn’t have to die, but I guess that was never in the cards. I guess happy endings aren’t very cyberpunk.

Now I wonder if Cyberpunk 2 would be set after the events in Cyberpunk 2077 since that implies that the devs needs to provide something about how V ends, V being a legendary merc.
BeaveVillage
They should consider an expansion before the events of Act 1 and the Heist, where you do a little work with Jackie, T-Bug, and Wakako for six months. A little character development for these characters would do wonders.

Still wanted the Crystal Palace DLC as an ending, though. Kerry gets to go, V gets to go, we don’t get to go. It’s irritating.

But we know that’s not true. The old datamine had a lot of phatom liberty info that was just not known by anyone outside of CDPR and that same datamine had info of a crystal palace heist dlc.

Makes me think they intend to make the next game a sequel
FleetOfWarships
That’s a good philosophy honestly, to do something after the endings, especially in a few specific cases, would really only diminish the impact of them, I can only think of a couple cases where that would even be remotely viable and even then it doesn’t quite fit.

I really don’t understand why y’all need definitive answer. We’ve got great endings, that are defined enough to mean something and open enough that you can create you’re own ending for V. This is way better than having every second of V’s life written down
liomcg
so does this confirm that there wont be a canon ending for V down the line?

i’m happy with the state of the story delivered. CDPR told a great story and V bows out.

I very much appreciate that CDPR stuck to their guns with no clean cut “happy” endings for the game. It’s a breath of fresh air in videogame narratives and holds true to the cyberpunk genre as a whole. Any “amendments” to the base endings would definitely soften their impact, and the new ending is perfectly bittersweet.

If they ever did another expansion, i think it should be a small extra thing separate from V so they can focus on the other things they are doing.
My suggestion, please give is something where we play as maxtac, omg that would be so cool

Sadly we wont get to see Crystal Palace, despite >!the tease in Songbird’s path!< 😔
