Please tell me the second slide is of 4k
Thrillog
I’ve hit way more than 60fps, just disable DoF in options – easy.
lovecMC
I get 37k fps on my 2060. Just have to mod the file and set resolution to 1×1.

Let me fix the title.
“Incompetent devs fail to optimise their game before release.”

What next? 1 fps? Because Dlss upto 2 fps cuz its enough?
Double-Low-9394
As soon as I started the game, my 4090 was pulling 400W+ sitting at the main menu. That’s how poorly optimized this game is.

Anyone who calls for 60FPS for a city builder is someone who simply does not play city building games and is trying to force their expectations onto one. Stable 30 is exactly what you want from a city builder and it’s exactly the FPS I’m getting.

Unpopular opinion: for Cities: Skylines 2, there’s no real benefit to aim for >30 FPS. It’s not like latency or FPS really matters for a city sim.
The problem isn’t *that* per se, it’s that “decent” hardware doesn’t seem to get that 30 FPS. You shouldn’t need a top-end graphics card (or CPU for that matter) to play a city sim at a decent speed.
If you could get 30 FPS with, say, mid-level GPU/CPU from the previous generation, that would be okay (at which point the current-gen high end should automatically get more).

I’ll bet they say this after the fact to pretend they did it on purpose and try to save face.
KingFIippyNipz
Well I might pirate this if I ever felt the interest, would be foolish to pay money for this dog shit
NotagoK
Then I refuse to play Cities Skylines 2 because there’s no real benefit to force downgrade my gaming experience.

As a software engineer I’d still blame the product managers and above for allowing this to ship. All software folks want to deliver quality products but there are often business constraints out of their control.

And yet it’s still one of the top sellers on steam… people deserve the shit they are fed I swear 💀
Dry-Shoe-237
And still the will go around saying it is next gen title. When a 4090 in 30 fps.
Pruney
3070ti gets 80fps, dont be lyin OP

Tbh targeting 30 fps for this type of game is fine. This is not a game that needs high frame rates. The problem is to get 30 at 1080 you need a 4090. If they had said 1080 at 30fps with even a 3060 they would have been fine. They are ignoring the real issue intentionally by saying “you don’t need more than this” and sidestepping you need a $1600 card to get an even playable game. 30 fps is BARE FUCKING MINIMUM for any game to be considered playable. Not running great but just playable.

Nah, people will still buy the game and expect a miracle.
