G2A charging me for not use my account, WTF is this?

  1. Just known scumbags being scummy.

They’ll argue that you agreed to when using their service by skipped past the tiny, out-of-the-way check box that enrolled you. It’s been a while since this came up, but back then it was a “simple” process of about 20 steps to get out of it.

Everyone with a brain knows G2A is cancer. No one should use them.

There are TONS of better options. Pick literally any.

  3. jonginator

G2A is scummy and known to be used as money laundering scheme.

Let your account get deleted. 🙂

  4. G2A were scumbags to begin with, this is no surprise at all.

Just call your bank and have them block further transactions and then block their email lol

  6. VoidLookedBack

6 years ago I closed my account and blocked my paypal from them when they tried pulling scummy shit after a scammer overcharged me for a Windows 10 code.

  7. GeneticSplatter

G2A have long since been known as a scummy storefront. This isn’t surprising.

  8. Calm_Tea_9901

There is data protection law, ubisoft and gmail are doing same thing but this second part doesn’t make any sence why are they charging user for them to keep users data?

  9. abstractism

Fuck g2a. They’re black market trash playing at legitimacy.

Also, it’s 2023. Who is still using g2a? Who didn’t get the memo that they’re shitbags that are definitely going to steal from you?

  10. NonCredibleITguy

This is not because they’re a scummy company, this is because they have to hold the money for every single user and account for them each year, which is creating lots of useless work on the accounting side of things. Imagine having to hold 1-10$ for hundreds of thousands of unique users. If you’re not active, why not withdraw or use the funds?

  11. TheOnionBro

You only have yourself to blame for ever signing up with that cesspool site. Everyone knows they’re a tumor.

  12. Both_Lawfulness_9748

This practice is applied on other sites in different industries across the internet. Just withdraw the money and be done with it.

  13. Osu_Pumbaa

Do you have money in a G2A wallet? Probably not? Then ignore the email.

  14. Delete the account, smaller devs would actually prefer if you pirated their game instead of buying from G2A

  15. You havent used it in 6 months, why would you have money in a site you haven’t used in 6 months

How tf are there still people willing to use G2A

  17. MaybeSomeDayX1

I honestly don’t know how these websites still operate. You’d think the mass amounts of keys bought with stolen credit cards would be enough to have the government step in but apparently not.

Am i missing something? Storage is not free. Just sign in once and you dont have to pay. If you have money in your wallet they take a bit to pay for storage and service.

I am not even a fan of G2a, but the Email literally says you dont have to pay, just sign in…

  19. ObamasStrapOn

Used g2a once years ago, got scammed. If I really need a key (for example old Lego games, im not paying 60€ for a 10 year old LEGO game) I use Instant gaming, never been scammed til now

  20. Overall-Dig-4736

It makes sense. They are not a bank. And most of the banks charge you money for storing money.

  21. zenithtreader

The real question is why are you using G2A?

  22. KingRichardTheTurd

G2A sold me an aida64 key that wasn’t legit, contacted paypal with all the evidence and paypal closed my case In favour of G2A. Assumed It Is because digital goods, all the evidence was there. I’ve never used paypal or G2A since, that $5 has cost paypal a small fortune off me over the years.

  23. Vexacus84

I tried to make a purchase on G2A about a month ago. It said there already was an account with my email so I requested a new password. After i set up a new password it said my account was suspended and i could make a new account if I wanted too. Guess this happened to my account but missed the email

  24. IAmTheDeskAgent

Huh, it’s almost as if G2A is a website you should avoid because they have nasty business practices as well as not caring where they get game key sellers from.

  25. zinhor79

That’s a bit like complaining about your drug dealers business ethics. It’s a bit shady? No shit.

  26. Yea, it’s G2A the scum of the earth and the biggest criminal stolen key seller in the world.

  27. DarkSamuraiSC

A lot of people shitting on G2A here; I’ve never had an issue with them in my experience.

  28. MrJackSirUnicorn

They do this because it cost them money to keep record of your account balences and to hold that money/value for you so if you go inactive their policys to reduce the costs to them is to impliment the mentioned fee until the balenced is cleared and you dont run up their bills keeping track of your balence for you.
TLDR: just log back in again and it resets, youll only need to log in once every mounth or so to stop it.

  29. MisterBlack8

Technically, they’re not charging you for not using your account. They’re informing you that they are going to steal from you, unless you use your account.

  30. HayesMatt14

I’m seeing a lot of people in this thread saying that G2A is terrible and to use another platform. What’s wrong with G2A? I’ve been using them for years, and I haven’t had any issues with the platform.

  31. Louzan_SP

They are literally telling you what you can do to avoid it.
