Jensen is just secretly V’s father. It’s true, don’t look into it. Just believe.
But to answer the question. I think Jensen would have a great fighting chance. His tech might be “older” but I would say if you staged the fight in 2077 and let Jensen upgrade he would be a much larger threat. I still think Prime 100% Takemura would take out most.

Jensons biggest issue is the energy requirement of his cyberware. Most actions consume portions of battery charge that he needs to constantly replenish to stay tip too.
If he was allowed to upgrade to 2077 levels of tech and benefit from there unlimited use as does V and everyone else, he would easily slot in among the best mercs/solo’s in the setting.
His focus would be more on espionage, sabotage or other covert/investigation heavy gigs.
He would also be the kind of person that can double, triple or even quadruple down on similar cyberware in the same body part. He is know to have a significantly high tolerance for cyberware. Would be nothing for him to have combined gorilla arms, mantis blades, monowire and the projectile launch system at the same time. Same for legs with double jump, charge jump, and the leeroy jenkins combo. Could easily see him handling all sorts of combinations that V simply cant fit. Cyberdeck plus sandy.
Honestly he would be kind of super OP with 2077 gear.

Jensen, put in 2077 with 2077 equivalents for all of his augs, would fucking *stomp* most people.
By Mankind Divided Jensen is I believe roughly *half* non-organic parts, so he’s already chromed to fuck. In 2077 terms he has both Mantis Blades *and* Gorilla Arms, enhanced mobility and dexterity in the hands that allow him to rotate his hand completely and “dislocate” his fingers for a level of freedome of movement humans cannot normally do. Plus tons of stabilizers and recoil dampeners in his arms and torso. Intensive subdermal armor, top of the line cardiovascular and muscular augs, a full suite of life support systems, and the ability to shoot explosive charges out of ports on his torso. His legs are artificial which gives him enhanced mobility, speed, and jump strength, as well as reflex boosters and the Icarus Landing System on his spine. And then there’s the optical camo and all of the neural soft equivalent to a cyberdeck which allows him to remotely hack electronics *and* manipulate social interactions, not to mention his ear/eye augs.
Honestly, the guy is a fucking stealth borg. He doesn’t look chromed to hell under that coat, but he’s borderline half machine. And that’s before you factor in all of the training he has.
If he isn’t constrained by batteries like in his game, he’d do great. Just needs a Sandy or Kerenzikov, and be a little more careful around people with high powered weaponry (he’s smart enough not to just engage people like that in a straight up firefight)
He’d be right at home, probably work his way up with some gigs to get the higher end cyberware, which he should definitely be able to handle. Guy could probably go full borg, seeing as he’s already more chromed out than most people.
He’d probably have similar potential to David Martinez. Due to Adam’s body’s ability to naturally adapt to augmentations I see it as quite alike

Only thing he might be weak against is netrunners other than that he is strong enough to take if not all most.
I always felt like the last deus ex was a nice sample of what cyberpunk could be.

How Jensen could beat:
– Takemura: regular combat, even Arasaka goons can take Takemura on;
– Blackhand: probably can’t, Morgan’s got almost 100 years of experience in warfare, combat, etc., Jensen is very capable, but he isn’t 80 years of experience capable;
– V: could push V off a cliff for an instant kill (I ain’t gonna touch this discussion with a 10 km pole). Kinda stupid how there’s no anti fall damage cyberware (or a parachute), while 2027 Jensen has a needlessly complex augmentation that allows him to fall safely from any height, by literally repelling the Earth’s magnetic field;
– Smasher: Jensen is as borged out as Adam Smasher, if not more. For defense I’ll just cite the TiTAN augmentation, which makes him completely invulnerable to any and all kinds of damage. As for offense, he has a giant list of offensive augmentations that I ain’t gonna put here, go read the wiki or something. He can defend against anything Smasher can do, and can attack Smasher in so many different ways it’s not even a contest. And that’s without weapons, that’s just the stuff he has built-in.
Just realized and googled that Deus Ex events are roughly 10 years apart from Cyberpunk. Would be cool to see a crossover.
The only real handicap Jensen has is how much power his augmentations use and even given that, in cyberpunk 2077 he would easily be a top solo. Without those constraints and some added cyberware he could arguably be the best.
I think Adam Jensen operates at a much higher combat and espionage skill level than *most* of the characters in the 2077 game, despite the lower tech level.
If the playing field gets leveled and he gets access to 2077 Cyberware? Forget about it.
But Adam Jensen is a somewhat bland, blank faced anime character, where as most Cyberpunk characters are generally written far more grounded and realistically

I mean…I wouldn’t mess with a guy that can confidently step outside of a flying aircraft and land on his feet like nothing happened. Even in 2077.

It’s a great game just no where what cyberpunk brings to the table in terms of cyberwear
I think Jenson would be the most OP of all if only for his immunity to implant rejection which I feel would make him immune to cyberpsychosis. He could be completely tricked out without having to worry about going crazy.

So I run a cyberpunk red campaign and a westmarch like server for cyberpunk red text based. I’ve gone out of my way to experiment with character builds and have gone as far as creating Adam Jensen. The rules state that if you lose a limb during combat, and someone replaces it with cyberware, it would not be traumatic since it would be like having your limb back somewhat, which means that the character would not lose any humanity over it. With that said, he “didn’t ask for this” when he got blown up and nearly died, and Sarif basically fixed him right up with the upgrades. Now, this would be assuming that he has a high empathy score, which I assume he would based on his background, his max humanity would take a beating from the borgware and cyberware he had installed.
In the rules it states that for each piece of cyberware, max humanity is lowered by 2 and it is lowered by 4 per borgware. Current humanity and max humanity work differently: current humanity is what gets temporarily lowered and can be recovered through therapy, but cannot exceed max humanity, while max humanity can only be recovered by removing the tech.
The rules also state that if your limbs are replaced after an accident, you don’t lose current humanity because you regained something you lost, while intentionally replacing limbs, etc, causes enough trauma to affect your humanity. Of course, creating him in character creation would be impossible and you’d need to talk to a GM to make it work.
You could argue that Adam’s “I didn’t ask for this” means he’d deal with trauma so losing some humanity would make sense, but I don’t believe that it would be enough to make him a cyber psycho as long as his mental health is cared for.
Which, to me, means that Adam Jensen would be as powerful, or even more, than Adam Smasher without having to go insane. He’d be another version of V; A Lawman V to be exact.
His cyberware is insane and it would be the sort that only a corporation can pay for and the type that even V can’t get a hold of.
Man, I’d love to bring Adam Jensen and Sarif Industries into my cyberpunk games. Lol
