I mean hardware-wise yeah that price is absolutely bonkers.

BUT you can never underestimate how much people are willing to spend for the limited EVA+ROG products, I would imagine this might appeal to some people considering it has what looks to be most of the high dollar collab pieces in it (that EVA-02 4090 I see for $2400-2800 pretty consistently by itself).

so overpriced? If you don’t care about EVA, absolutely. if you are a superfan that HAS to have your Asuka fix? Yeah, there are people that’ll pay it.

  2. thatfordboy429

A bit of both. Yeah, no one should buy that. But if operating as a PC builder(so if the PC is properly new) it doesn’t look to far off. If it was a 13900k it would be about right.

Hell just the GPU, MOBO, PSU, CPU cooler is over $3,000 if my quick math and search check out. So yeah your looking at a good $4,000 adding in CPU, Case, Ram, SSD. Then add up anything else.

Is it a good configuration, no. Could you beat it for less, yes. Does the price as configured check out, more or less.

  3. Gold_Appointment_492

Those are some legitimately high end components in there.

You could build a similarly performing machine for much cheaper, but part for part + labor + markup it’s actually not that insane.

I would never buy it myself (because as I said above you can get similar performance for much less), but for what he likely paid, and adding in his own labor that’s not too crazy.

  4. Anotherthrowawayboye

How much is that rog 4090 1900 dollars or something

    Damn

  5. DieUBot852

Somehow it’s cheaper than buying everything seperatlely

  6. Fancy-Abrocoma-4776

He def isn’t smoking thst good good depending what brand the 4090 is, shits 1700+ by itself

  7. joblesscobra2

The price is fair. Limited editions are always more expensive. The 4090 alone sells for around 2.5-3k. Almost double of what a normal 4090 costs

  8. All clear “I build and sell as a hobby… pride…” now you can pay for that 😆

  9. rattlelibre

It’s fair because half that shit is collector pieces. I’ve seen that 4090 go for 2500 alone. If you want cheap buy a non custom evga 4090 setup. Price will drop by half.

  10. ronronthekid

He is indeed smoking some good dick because, boy, what the hell?!

  11. munitionchipsintoys

Damn he’s got the evangelion x rog designs.

  12. Intelligent-Run-6496

The hood news is, this guy isn’t scamming you out of money. A PC with a more “run of the mill” if there is such a thing, 4090 is going to run in the just below 4,000 price range. For this build he probably paid about 3500 for all the parts plus labor a 4,000+ price tag is reasonable.

  13. Puzzleheaded-Brief56

That’s a fair price considering it’s a custom build so it’s probably used. Which doesn’t mean much anyway because those components can’t be more than a year old. It’s a very fair asking price.

  14. arglefark567

It seems like everything is priced fairly based on the special edition parts, but I would guess it’ll take a while to sell (if it ever does). I did the whole “build and sell as a hobby” thing for a while (up until covid threw component prices out of whack) and I always found it hard to sell anything over about $800. Most people looking at p2p marketplaces are new to PCs and need someone who’s not only going to sell them a pc, but also answer their questions. Anyone looking for something as high end/custom as the PC in the post, is probably going to want to build it themselves. I would never tie up so much money in a build unless it was an up front commission (which are nebulous for p2p transactions because people are justifiably wary to prepay an internet stranger in advance of product delivery). If I had to guess, this guy probably had the build commissioned and the buyer backed out after the PC was already finished.

  15. WolvenSpectre

Not that it is worth it, but that it is worth it to Evangelion Fans. If you are not one or you don’t want to pay the Limitied Edition Tax then no.

  16. ehardaway1

You’d be an absolute idiot to buy this. If you’ve got that much money to burn, just build one yourself.

  17. domZ1026

These comments have taught me that there are high end builds, then there are HIGH END BUILDS

  18. I like how you cut it off right before he mentions he has a 90 day guarantee. This is legitimate home business someone is running. He clearly knows what he’s doing.

  19. It actually looks about right considering the limited edition EVA stuff, really depends on how much you care about that. You absolutely could (and I would) build something with the same performance for a LOT less, and you’d get the peace of mind that comes with brand new parts, return windows, warranties etc.

  20. LOCKDOWNWITHCOCKDOWN

The cable tie on the cooling tubes bothers me lol

  21. Silentscope420

No it’s not overpriced. Can you build the same system for cheaper ofc you can but it won’t be the Rog name brand stuff. It’s like Nike and Adidas some people buy Nike and pay the fee some save money and buy Adidas

  22. 2Mark2Manic

You want the waifu, you pay for the waifu.

  23. wilkersp

such a high end pc and still can’t put tubes the right way

  24. It’s irritating me the PSU is just sitting there dude

  25. belacscole

Definitely a fair price given what those components are worth

  26. Question should be why is the industry smoking the good stuff

  27. PreDawnAxis_374

God if only that Eva collab came out in like 5 years

  28. CuddleFishHero

Bro I’m gonna buy it if you don’t, where you located?

  29. Tonizombie

I’d say good price… for a build made out of rare limited edition parts.

  30. wumblerchumbler

Honestly he might be pricing it fair because those evangelion themed parts cost a lot sadly

  31. domZ1026

Still kinda of funny to me it doesn’t have a 13900K. If you’re going all out, go all out, no?

  32. Jeffzuzz

Its the anime sticker. Thats like $2k alone.

  33. PoopSnoop99

That LE Eva stuff just came out. Not a bad deal considering how much that stuff can be sealed long term unused

  34. Thamos_P84

If it’s not a scam and you got the $$ and a fondness Evangelion then it’s definitely worth it and the seller might be smoking crack
