I have used them in the game a lot – I kind of like them the most. So that thought has crossed my mind. You never see them reload, and it is a recharge… the only thing I can think of is 3d Printing? Like it somehow manufactures its own rounds. There is not a reload slot that we can see.

Never used the one in game but there was an episode of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex where an assassin used a projectile launch system/arm cannon thing. Iirc it sort of folded out a bit further and they loaded the ammo in like a shotgun.
Type in ghost in the shell shotgun arm gif and you should find it

Probably like a regular underslung grenade launcher. Tube goes forward or pops out to the side on a swivel and you load a round into the back and close it up.
For gameplay reasons they made it rechargeable and not a reload animation I’m sure.
Maybe there is a replicator which replicates new rounds after they are discharged.

Both the arm cannons and grenades are on a recharge, and it’s not like you have some weird ‘grenade constructor device’ or anything.
In the TTRPG, they are reloaded like any other pistol/SMG/micromissile/flamethrower/dart launcher) that can be cybermounted. You take one turn to reload.
