I get that we have circlejerks in here that will blindly follow a brand or get pissed off if you disagree with them but I don’t think I’ve seen someone pissed off because you play at 4K? Maybe it’s because you have a 3060ti and it isn’t recommended due to the limited vram or people are just jealous?

My vision isn’t good enough to appreciate 4k, so the one advantage to that is I can stick to 1440p and get better performance than I could at 4k with no reduction in perceived resolution.
I can’t imagine anybody getting snubbed for playing at 4k, tho. Did I miss some context there?

I mean, I’m not mad about it, but it’s kind of a waste. You’re not sitting across the living room, you’re 2 feet from your monitor. Gaming at 4k and sitting that close really nets you nothing other than a lot of money and worse performance. To each their own. I’d take my 34 inch 3440×1440 over 4k any day of the week.

To each their own; you like what you like. I personally don’t notice a big enough difference between 1440p and 4K on my 27in monitor, so the performance sacrifice isn’t worth it to me.
I don’t notice a difference with 4k unless it’s on a big screen (like 40in+)

1440p is where it’s at. That is for 27″ at least, which is the ideal screen size for up close (some even prefer 23~25″, in which case even 1080p is good enough really).
For large screens, 50″ and larger, sitting on the couch: that’s when I personally see 4K making sense. Otherwise one is better off with the extra FPS.

Ive seen more hate for 1440p than 4k. Sidenote imo 1440p is the best blend of image quality and framerate. Not to mention you dont have to sell your soul and a kidney every 2 years to stay above 60fps.
