Nobody claims to know anything about it and is all hounding me for “trying to blame someone.” And that it must have “happened naturally from old age [2 years of use]

You might want to re-check the cables, or even try different ones.

But i’m pretty sure, someone, somehow, dropped something…

  2. EducationalCamel1043

to me it looks like physical damage to the screen. impact damage?

just to note I had something similar happen when cleaning my monitor i wasnt even applying much pressure. standard amount

i got the vertical lines and horizontal lines no cube. was like a pixel died.

  3. Castelante

That’s 110% looks like physical damage to me.

  4. killing_till

Yeah they’re all fuckin liars idk your living situation but I’d just assume that they’re all lying. Only other possible explanation is that it fell over somehow (wind?) And someone picked it up. But since they’re claiming to have nothing to do with it, one of them definitely broke it. I have screens from before 2000 that aren’t damaged

    I feel ya.

I ended up in the hospital a while back (bicycle accident, broke a lumbar vertebrae) and when I came back my bag of chicken patties had magically opened itself and gotten mostly empty. Of 3 roommates one I trust to ask, one didnt know I was in the hospital, and the last one had so many fucking excuses, like that he had his own chicken nuggets, that my chicken patties were pork, so as a muslim he cant eat pork, and in the end even demanded I search his room for….food thats long been eaten?

Dude was so obviously full of shit, it was infuriating.

  6. Gremlinjekt

Food for thought: Someone could have damaged it while it was off and doesn’t know they damaged it.

  7. Strange-Ostrich8753

Someone you live with is lying.

  8. Level_Will_888

Physical damage. You can even see the main point of impact. Someoneeeee is lying to you, my man lol

My dad has this super old monitor relic that works perfectly fine, that kind of damage don’t happen from normal use.

  9. jeremybryce

Dude that’s CLEARLY physical damage. Someones lying out their ass.

  10. Caityface91

My bet: Someone grabbed the top and lifted, and that damage was the impression left by their thumb

  11. MandaCandy

Might be good to invest in a lock and camera. That seriously sucks 🙁

I have 7,000 hours on my monitor over 2 years of use and the only thing I have wrong with it is a tiny bit of bleeding in the top right corner that hasn’t got any worse. This definitely has to be physical damage. Sorry buddy, at least mid-higher end monitors aren’t as expensive as they used to be. I bought this 1440p 180Hz LG monitor for $600 two hears ago and now it’s selling for around $250-300.

  13. 19xyecoc98

Sth similar happened to me, and the only person who was at home at that time was my sister aswell as my three cats. But the monitor had two holes similar like a hammer or sth in it. Confronted my sister, she said it wasnt her, my stepdad saying it must‘ve been the cats. Told him to go pick up his singular braincell and explain to me how a cat would operate a hammer.
In conclusion: fuck everyone messing with yo stuff, lock the door in the future or get a cam to see if someone‘s messing with your stuff, because even in families some ppl love to mess with disabled people

  14. PeterMcPhile

That sounds terribly toxic, sorry you’re going through that. You may be able to get a panel replacement but depending on the cost it may be better to just get a new one.

  15. Needmedicallicence

Yeah a screen cannot punch itself. Got a screen with almost 14 years of daily use and still going strong! That is obviously physical damage

  16. Guilty-Stick-4925

Physical damage it looks like. I don’t have my own PC nor am I well off financially but I know living situations like that can really weigh on you. I’d be willing to chip in some $ if anyone on here maybe has a back-up they’d be willing to part with.

  17. ActuallyTBH

On another note. Your home life doesn’t sound particularly healthy. Why does it seem everyone hates you?

  18. CountryByte

It’s physical damage. They’re bullshitting and defending each other.

I had a family member decide that my pc setup was too messy because there were cables everywhere and had to be cleaned up. They scratched a monitor, threw another monitor out, cut all my cables and stole my keyboard and mouse.

Took me 5 months to get enough together to get my rig back in action. Missed half a cybersecurity course and several months of freelance work and no one wants to compensate.

People love to pick on us disabled thinking that we are stupid just because our body is not fully functioning. I feel your pain.

  19. DankestDrew

Just hit em with “you know, the monitor isn’t even that big a deal. What’s *REALLY* pathetic is grown ass adults with *ZERO* accountability. And here I thought I was raised by better.”

And don’t talk to them for the rest of the weekend.

  20. Get a watchdog group to hound then for their anti disabled people views , ruin their lives in a round about way, call their jobs and let them know what they did to a blind person. Oh can’t pay rent because you lost your job?!!

  21. ilikeburgir

Someone moved your monitor by grabbing it by the top and squeezing it.

If someone at your house does cleaning in your room, then thats probably you guilty person

My mom loves to throw out random shit on my desk.
I’ve once found my credit card in the trash bin and lost some papers with passwords.

  22. Deviant-Killer

Someone isn’t being truthful to you.

  23. Someone whacked it or someone made it fall. Physical damage there.

  24. NorthenLeigonare

Don’t know why people wouldn’t just own up to it and apologise. Even if they have to pay a little bit towards the replacement, it’s still just dumb and rude not to have the curtsey to say sorry.

  25. DesolateMilenko

It’s insane how many people don’t understand blindness, holy shit.

  26. Acid_impersonator

I don’t Intend to be mean, but you’re blind and can see? Fill me in on my ignorance pls

  27. Chance-Starkweather

That’s someone moved your monitor and pushed their thumb into the screen too hard, probably even heard a crunch from the screen breaking

  28. frizzledrizzle

Tsja, honderden mensen die je serieus neemt ongeacht je naam, blinde frikandelneuker.
