I’m a busy grad student, but I would love to finally be able to play Elden Ring and baldur’s gate 3 in the evenings/weekends. Would I get a few good years out of this?

Primarily because it comes with a display, mouse, keyboard, and headset. The chair probably sucks and the PC itself is not very good. I wouldn’t count on good gaming performance but it would be fine for most grad student office-work.

    old junk not worth it.

$1000 gets you a newer better pc and monitor

I feel like this would be a good deal. Not the best stuff in the world but it’s everything to get you started you know. You would have to turn down some settings but playable i would say yes.

    Us or Canada?
If US dollars – You can get a pc with 3080 for that price of eBay.

Figure out which Zipchair – they have some NICE chairs that sell for $600. Even their cheap chair if $500 and it looks ergonomic and of good quality (not having seen one in person).

Get more info on the monitor – if it’s a 1080p 24″ then the 2060 will be good for it and the screen won’t look like a screen door. If it’s a 27″, not quite as good but still passable. If 1440p, the 2060 will struggle in more modern games, so keep that in mind – I fully expect that monitor to be 1080p though…

If it has a nice chair, this becomes a pretty solid deal, *if you need a nice chair.*

I think the folks saying no didn’t read the full tag and stopped at the old hardware thinking it’s just a computer at this price. The computer is old, about four years or so going by the processor. But it is a pretty nice bundle of stuff and it does save you the effort of looking for all that stuff individually. I think it’s not an amazing deal, but it looks fine to me to save you time and effort as long as you understand what you’re getting. It’ll play new games but it’s not maxing them or anything. I have basically the same system in my living room and it runs BG3 fine at 1440p but not 4k.

  7. I mean they’re trying to make it seem worth it by bundling all those peripherals… Do you really want used peripherals that sweaty nerds have spent hundreds or thousands of hours using?

Nah. This is a rip off. 5-6 year old hardware in the pc, too. Big no thanks.

    I would not buy a 9000 series cpu. 4 generations / 5 years old.

Will need an upgrade too soon.

Better off buying anything from amd 5000 series (last series) or intel 12 or 13000. Even a lower tier cpu. The arcitexture has changed so much that the 9700 will be struggling in the next couple of year’s games.

  9. PossiblyShibby

Nah. You’d then need to upgrade soon. Just go new.

Sounds like they’re trying to do more than make room.

This is pricing I’d expect for new retail.

Gaming chairs suck, peripherals can wear out in that timeframe and you’d be best off getting ones more specific to you. The only good additional component is the monitor.

If you’re willing to learn you can build this exact pc for significantly less. Hell, you can build 12th gen i7 127k 3070 with $1,000. All new.

Less if you’re willing to get a used case and fans.

This thing is 4 years old. At the very least, you’ll need to repaste the cpu, and if you can do that, you can build a machine.

That’s all worth maybe $700 at best. It’s a rip off.

  12. It’s probably worth it. The PC by itself no, but throw in the monitor, chair, and equipment and it’s not half bad. You’ll get good performance on 1080p, but 1440 is pushing it.

I think it’s like $400-500 worth now days, maybe even lower

  14. lefthandedrighty

That thing probably has a lot of hours on it as well. Something to consider.

  15. ntongh2o

Nope can get a 12th gen i5 and 3060 ti/4060 for that price.

  16. AuraMaster7

    Fuck no

On paper it’s not overpriced because they’re bundling a monitor and chair, but like, that’s a used monitor and chair from an esports place. Shit’s nasty.

You’ll be fine lol. People say the parts are junk but I ran with a gtx950 and an i7 6700, with 16gb ram for years and only a few weeks ago got a fancy modern rig. May have to stick to medium settings for good frames, but it’ll work fine for anything but like ultra quality

  18. MaskedRiderFaiz

Those computer parts are pushing 5 years, some more than others, with second-hand peripherals that probably smell like hardcore sweat? Nah bro you’re better off searching Ebay for a monitor and getting some kind of RedDragon peripheral bundle. I seriously doubt they cleaned those well, if at all. And you can for sure get a better computer for the price full-stop.
