Is this going to overheat or cause any kind of problems like this?

It looks like you’re still sagging even with that support.

    “Is this going to overheat…”

If it does, it’ll have nothing to do with the bracket. It’ll be because of the lack of breathing room underneath your GPU.

I gotta second what /u/Castelante said, there really isn’t adequate air gap under the GPU, and yeah, there’s still some sag in the card.

Is that the car from Evil Dead?!

  4. YellowFogLights

What case is that? It looks like the PSU basement panel is removable, you might want to do that so your GPU can actually breathe.

That gap underneath may be sufficient enough for your card to breathe. You can run benchmarks to stress the system, however those usually load the gpu more than a typical game would. So run whatever games you would by typically playing, play as normal and keep an eye on the temperature. If it doesn’t thermal throttle then congratulations! Stop worrying about it at that point.

As to the original question, I think you’ll be fine with that supporting your gpu as long as it doesn’t get dislodged.

Not really, how are you going to get to work?

  7. StonnedGunner

    hey

    you cant park there

a piece of wood is probably more stable as a low tech solution

  8. goteamdoasportsthing

Yeah, that’s alright. But you have your GPU on low power mode. The performance is significantly better in Any Power mode.

  9. Major_Stoopid

Hmm not sure, it is technically a Low Rider…..

  10. NervousMission7644

Probably won’t work because there aren’t any drivers

  11. mya-ryuko

Suspension is shot. Gonna need to be replaced.

The heat may cause the rubber on the tires to break down faster and leave residue/marks on that panel. Up to you if that matters or not.

When are we gonna give up on tower PCs and return to horizontal desktop machines?

  14. New_Spread_475

The lack of airflow you’re allowing underneath your GPU is a bigger priority but I wouldn’t use anything that can conduct electricity considering that’s a cast iron car and you’re GPU uses electricity to power it. Also note if the GPU is pushing hard enough on that car you could damage your wires possibly cutting them

I don’t think you have the car in far enough I would put it more to the back and then further and it should be okay. As long as it doesn’t get in the way of the fan I don’t see a problem

And air flow won’t be the best being that it’s so close to the bottom of the case unfortunately.

  16. Apprehensive-Time355

It’s a funny but meh solution. The car is parked on top of the cabling which is not great, if there is any extra weight the cabling will sag/crease over time and the gpu will too. Probably wont hurt anything but not something I would recommend or do.

I used some black poker chips on the corner of the GPU. Can basically customize the height of it, looks clean, doesn’t interfere with fans

  18. AVeryLONGPotato

It’s totalled. I hope you have insurance.

  19. FoofieLeGoogoo

It’s generally bad luck to add a giant hunk of conductive material inside a computer case like that.

I’d use a piece of plastic as a shim instead.

  20. Novel-Conclusion-662

    Dude…that’s not where I parked my car…..

  21. Necessary_Wrangler28

absolutely that’s what real customizing is all about

  22. rattlelibre

i think the 71 cutlass supreme would work better but this should do

  23. gingerninjarick

Nah… those old dodge monacos were pretty solid.. just keep the fan belts tight and the radiator tipped off and she’ll be fine!🤣🤣

    Couldn’t resist..
