OP you did the correct thing, the liquids are on the far side of the desk to the tower, all the liquid damage posts are people who put there drinks next/on the tower!
Also points for Birra Moretti, always good in summer. I hope you can look in to some good German options next, some Erdinger or Lowenbrau?

Its nice but you could also try to move the beer machine to the side of the desk and then add some speakers a second monitor plus large mouse pad.
