One of the things I love about BO4 is the sheer volume and challenge range of side EEs (as well as main EEs)
I like the fact that there are different ways to play, you can jump into a game and after (for the most part) a fairly simple set-up process, just slay Z’s. You can go for a casual game and just grind out camos.
Something I love to do is challenge myself to see how many side EEs I can complete in a public match while the other players burn through the rounds. The Iron Bull upgrade on IX is a particular favourite.

Fucking banger maps, in retrospect it’s currently the last Treyarch game that I consider to have legitimately great map concepts. Highlights go to all of the Chaos maps, Blood of the Dead, and Tag. They each strive for a different type of atmosphere or feeling, and they all nail what they’re going for (Classified and AO are good too, they’re just much more of a remake of their respective maps then Blood and Tag, so they don’t get much uniqueness points).
I also love the desire to make the mode as accessible as possible. I’ll be honest, I don’t know what the players who say they can hardly play BO4 because it’s too reliant on you doing EE’s are smoking. There’s a tutorial, a casual mode, fucking *custom mutations*, you can design the entire experience towards your liking! How sick is that? Custom Mutations should’ve been a staple going forward, and it should’ve kept the map’s EE’s. Would’ve made it the most beloved mechanic, I promise you that. But still, as it is now, there’s a lot you can do to tailor the experience to one that suits you.
And the last thing I’ll mention, compared to BO3 introducing a whole *1* new perk, BO4 came in with a ton of new ideas, and thanks to the perk system, you can find multiple uses and combinations for most perks in the game. Only complaint is that I wish every perk had a unique machine and jingle. Lots more to list, but I’ll leave it there

Most ways to play a single map in the entire franchise, bo4s my favorite for a reason, 100s of perk combos that are effective, 4 difficulty levels, rush mode, gauntlet, custom mutations. This game gave you ways to craft your own difficulty and play style like no other game does. Actually had a good dark matter grind too, unlike Cold War where the challenges are piss easy, and has that awesome classic prestige system. Also having 6 contracts a day and being able to earn every cosmetic in the game for free, seriously fuck 20 dollar bundles I don’t get how people defend that. The game also has automatic double xp events so once in while you can hop on and Grind double xp, which is way cooler then just permanent double xp.
