They probably are recycling assets. Happens all the time.
Taratus
Still not as bad as Starfield models tho.
Arihant-Guntiwar
It’s a cheaper budget game from a new studio
Jayce86
It’s these big companies refusing to change or update their engines. So, you end up with outdated character models slapped over top newer backgrounds.
amypond420
Cause ubisoft.
SwashbucklinChef
If you think the model looks bad you should see how poorly they animated it in this scene. Woof.
The_Silent_Manic
Cause after the 7th gen, adding polygons to models doesn’t really do anything except increase system requirements.
imapiratedammit
Because you keep paying for it since 2009
Jarroach
The 3rd word in the title is the answer
Apex-Reason
Because they are the same models.
Broseph_Bobby
C’mon that looks like it was from 2013 at least.
MadNerd010011002
Looks ok for me. If only studios would focus less on graphics and more on gameplay and story… The gaming industry would be a much better place.
Fares26597
Real talk though, I feel like 2009’s Arkham Asylum had character models that are not too far off from this level of fidelity
heatlesssun
Guess you gotta find something bad in a well optimized game.
NCHouse
Cuz that what’s you wanted. Old AC is back baby
AdmiralLemon
I can’t tell that this isn’t Starfield.
TiredReader87
I think you’re exaggerating
Doom_and_Gloom91
It looks fine
mbhwookie
Huh. I’m playing this now and find the character detail and animations good? I’m playing on PC with ultra.
General_Snack
You just pulled this from dunkey video didn’t you…
Jakopxy
Idk the game was great, and the stealth felt good and rewarding, I like the smaller map makes everything more condenced. It felt fund just to run on the roof tops to the next mission, or walking in the street to steal some money, if that was needed.
deutschdachs
This definitely looks worse than the last 3 AC games
CrispyMongoose
Looks ok to me. You could convince me that was an npc from some random planet in Starfield. I say that as someone who thinks Starfield is great.
Would I like them to look better? Yeah definitely. But it’s not going to change my experience much either way (I still hope they start to look better soon though).
KawaiiHentaiBoy
Assassin’s Creed is one of the most overrated gaming franchises I can think of. I don’t want to shit on it too much because the games are not completely bad. But in every AC I’ve played the audio quality is shit, which many people don’t seem to notice. The gameplay becomes repetitive and boring so fast, there’s nothing creative about it. They have so much money, how does the newest game look so bad? It’s a joke
PooperJackson
I hate their in-game dialogue scenes too. They just stand there lifeless and awkwardly staring at you. Though Bethesda isn’t any better. Then you play something like cp2077 and it’s night and day.
ZazaB00
All the enemies turning toward Basim when they’re assassinated has to be a bug, right? Surely, they didn’t force that turn in a game call Assassin’s Creed.
tyler081293
As someone who has pre-ordered every AC game since AC 2, I have to say I’m glad I broke that habit. I haven’t even finished Valhalla (because I dislike it), and I knew the game being a fraction of a AAA price was a sign that it needed more time to bake.
I’ll wait for a sale.
MadeYouSayIt
I think around the mid 2000s was when we reached a peak in amazing graphics, sure nice lighting is cool and all but we can suffice with sticking with more dated graphics for the sake of focusing on other game features

Same reason Bethesta does it.
To match the gameplay from 2009
Because their internal game engine is from 2012
God the industry sucks nowadays.
Everything shite nao, bow to BG3 and tremble!
Because it is!
