The police are way better than they used to be, but damn are they annoying. Help them out in a firefight against a gang? They start shooing you too. And even if you put away your weapon like they ask, they just keep shooting

Patrolling police is the most annoying thing next to new driver behavior.
Used to climb on cars and throw a knife at the trunk just to watch them freak out and drive like maniacs into one direction, jump to the next on an intersection and do it again. That was the thinking mans way of traveling before 2.0
Now you have to hack the car you stand on top of and you get stars if you ram it into a wall killing the occupants. If you actually throw a knife at the car you are standing on now they just leave the car.

Still pretty lax compared to real cops.. they ignore traffic violations and you bumping into random civilian cars or even running around, brandishing a weapon.

I think that gta cop system where there’s a “minor dismeanor” level where cops will attempt to arrest the character without firing a gun.
If you try to.. escape or escalate to level 2 then they threaten to fire.. then fire and if you don’t react artest without killing..
Then a level “shoot to kill” after that.
It would solve this problem.
Additional “handcuff ” animations would be required..
Or a non lethal shot that rendered the character paralyzed followed by the animation of him leaving the police office or hospital..
But this is cyberpunk. Cops have no patience anymore on this world lol.

I’ve had times where I’ve rammed them so hard they flew off the road and they didn’t care at all, but then I lightly bump a car and they pull out the assault rifles

The other day I randomly happened upon a shootout between some cops and Tiger Claws, so I was like, aight I’ll help out the cops, why not? I downed a few of them and all was going well, I was like “hell yeah bros, we got this, teamwork, yeah!”
But when I killed the last Tiger Claw, every single cop immediately entered combat with me and I got 2 stars. I had to run around frantically looting before scooting right the fuck out of there. Like, screw you guys, I was just trying to help and you ALLOWED me to do so until our common enemy was taken care of, and only after that did you start attacking me.
Idk if I should be upset that the game fucked me over after I reached out a caring hand, or impressed that it actually pulled that genuinely surprising yet understandable and well thought out tactic.
Was it a bug? Was it intentional game design? I’ll never know, but I will say it was definitely a memorable moment.
