It do be difficult. I took my main save into the dlc that is a net runner lv 50 with tier 5 everything out the gate. Had to drop it down to hard on the waves before the chimera chase.

It’s not that different.
Basically pre 2.0 VH was challenging in the beginning but once you leveled up the challenge fell off, now it just doesn’t fall off.
In terms of actual difficulty it still only feels slightly harder than normal… feel like they could make a nightmare mode which is why I’ve started a no added cyberware playthrough on VH.
The only noticeable jump in difficulty was boss fights but once I discovered you can chain blind bosses with throwing weapons then even that falls off unless they have adds.

The ‘very hard’ setting is normal in starfield….
We need the game to be harder not easier.

For me problem is that very hard feels like is made for some builds that are considered OP while other builds are just not enough.

As a NetRunner, if anything it’s easier.
Once I had them, I used the same three quickhacks in the same combination of four inputs, over and over, for almost the entire playthrough.
I only had to use a gun when a boss showed up, and most died in one or two shots, after the initial volley of QHs.
By the end of the playthrough, I had infinite overclock sustain, a constant refresh of health items, a massive RAM pool, and oneshot everything I glanced at.
The core difference that I saw, in terms of viable builds in 2.0, was purely one of tedium.
I spent more time in the QH menu and less time watching organic emergent gameplay.
That’s it. Very Hard is still the default chill setting for me, with the exception of a few scripted guest -character sequences.
Haven’t tried a Solo -focused build yet, mind. Sure it might be different without QHs.

I play stealth, not much different.

It really isn’t once you hit level 10 – 20 depending on your build. AI is completly brain dead when you have a tech weapon. They will just stay in “cover” while I shoot them through walls, never advancing on my position even though I’m picking them off one by one.

The only major problem I had with vary hard was the missions where you have to shoot out of a car while somebody else drives. Absolute nightmare.
The mission where you’re Johnny going after Alt is literally impossible – I restarted 20 times and couldn’t even survive the first five seconds of the chase. The others were doable but still very frustrating.

It’s not though. Doesn’t feel any more difficult than the original Very Hard

On the opposite, Very Hard difficulty is still very easy imo….

Hell I’m in Hard and while in the end game after beating PL (but not 100% side content, yet) I finally have enough healing and armor to not die too often… shits hard lol. I have to stay in cover once I’m detected or I’m dead fucking meat, even at ~400hp and ~500 armor. I love it.

This is one of my favorite changes of the update. Finally a difficulty setting that means something.

I’m playing a katana/handguns build just on Hard, and I’ve died so much more than I ever did with any build pre-2.0. I’m really happy with it. When I’m focusing and playing tactically, fights usually aren’t that challenging. ***But I do have to play tactically.*** I gotta think about where all my enemies are, what kinda weapons they’re shooting me with, what the netrunners are doing, etc. Even when I pop my Sandy I need to stay focused.
