Starfield, I believe, did the option to switch from first to third very well. I feel this could become a common practice for AAA shooters/melees going forward.

I’m begging them to do away with first person sex scenes though. Every one of them looks ridiculous. Just shift to a third person cinematic for the love of god.

neither bring back the classic top down view 💀
AlleyCa7
They did a really good job with the first person, but I want third person.
Interesting_Yogurt43
I don’t mind either but let’s not be the opposite of Resident Evil fans that went wild with 1st person camera with 7 and 8.
tysoncrosby21
3rd person cyberpunk would feel weird.
Astro4545
3rd person as an option is fine, but the game just feels so alive when viewed as 1st. If it doesn’t harm the game’s development too much I say do both.
Flyersfreak
Both please. Thx
Peaceful_Ronin
If we can only have one I would say first person. Otherwise do both like RDR2.
Jbarney3699
Likely going to be first person. First person played into cyberpunk extremely well, as there wasn’t any real cutscenes or jarring times when the camera view changed. It’s a single consistent shot. Adding Third person may mess with that styling and feeling.
Brick-the-wild-youth
As much as I love 3rd person perspective, it’ll be weird for kiroshi eye implants UI
Failfoxnyckzex
Third person would ruin the already estabilished gameplay, we got bhoping, tons of parkour and precision jumping.
3rd person would be more on foot, kinda like The Division and The Last Of Us.
thedarknutt
First person but third person on cinematics like how the camera shifts to third person in all endings
communistboi222
Can’t say 1st as ever made me feel more immersed. And with third I can actually look at drip.
xenoz2020
More of a third person enjoyer so I’m hoping they do both. Everyone’s happy.
TyrantJaeger
Cutscenes would be nice at least.
Ok_Internal2806
why would you even want third person for a game like cyberpunk
Deniable_wreath
Eh I think first persons the way to go especially with how fast the combat can get (reflexes)
Lil_Kibble_Vert
If they did both, there would have to be cutscenes for both imo, otherwise one gets better storytelling than the other.
First person would be what 2077 always has been.
Third person would require third person cutscenes for every conversation. Now this could probably be sped up by certain processes, but with cyberpunk you never want to skimp on the storytelling.
So personally, I think letting you play third person if you want, but forcing you into first person for cutscenes.
Tough-Height841
Stay as first person for sure, keep third person as an option.
Mobile-Sun-3778
My only complaint with first person is that I rarely get to see and appreciate my character in the game. What is the point with all the transmogs and stuff if you can’t see it?
Yeager_isgoat
They should just make first person the main option but have an orbit mode where u can explore the world in 3rd person so you can see your character more. I just don’t know if 3rd person combat is the move.
OrderlyChaos227
Assuming they keep the gameplay the same, how would scanning work in 3rd person? Could you hack people round corners?
Personmchumanface
just let us choose like every other game
NoTop4997
The first person experience made the moments like the end of the heist feel more impactful.
The_Cozy_Burrito
I like the first person
YZYSZN1107
how bout have the option for both? I’d settle for 3rd person cut scenes.
Straight_Driver1484
i feel like it wouldn’t feel right in third person, when was the last time you saw someone play rdr2 or gta 5 in first person, it feels weird, because those games were made for third person, just like cyberpunk was made for first person
AHamsterPig
I really harped on them for not including a 3rd person cam but after playing with the unofficial mod for a playthrough I’ve realized how much more I enjoy the game in first person.
Suspicious_Trainer82
Both with the focus on first person like BGS games.
EldiusVT
Please do both, I can’t play third person games (motion sickness).
chadsgottagetrad
I’d really like first person to stay, but maybe with some more third person cinematics to show off the character more
MorganHolliday
Would vastly prefer third person. If I spend the time to make my avatar look cool I want to be able to see it.
Mammoth-Article919
Hopefully both, The first couple of months it made be dizzy af. After a while I got use to it but I can’t actually say I enjoy it.
I just don’t have a choice so I’m just forced into playing this way but even with a 3rd person experience I would still is be all in.
I can understand why they may not regret it just to force their point but why have us make a customized player just to not see anything but your character in or on a vehicle.
I think it’s lazy..
No harm & giving the player base options unless that’s just to much work for your devs.
I also never really connected with V the way I have in my 3rd person games. Took me a while, still not fully connected but overtime I’m getting there as I have started completely over.
I don’t really play shooters with first person like COD etc. So this was a new experience overall.
If 2 is only first person then I’ll definitely wait on it to go on sale. Are pass on it all together, just not my type of play style but I respect them for standing on it at least.
Jealous_Advance9765
I wish 3rd person noobs would get over it already. Either play the Cyberpunk sequel or skip it. The rest of us will enjoy what will most likely be a great product
