They did the work and were paid for it, even it is scrapped they credit their work.

seems like at least 6 people worked on the multiplayer of cp but it never got finished, at least they got their credits in the end cut

Ah cool, never seen that before. I wonder if these guys were the ones who started to implement the unfinished & walled off sealed North Oak Casino & Resort just east of Denny’s, I read somewhere this was supposed to be the multiplayer hub at one point.

2.1 release? Multi-player?
starfruit_enjoyer
yes. they put in the work so they should be credited, even if it never made it into the final game.
many studios don’t even credit people who worked on the game but left the company, or who only worked part time, or in a satellite studio, or a temporarily contracted studio, etc. it’s a big problem in the industry.
good on cdpr for this. it’s sad that we need to say that.

I think this is about of the multiplataform save!!

Project Orion better just be a multiplayer expansion to make cyberpunk 2077 an mmorpg

If I was on the team for a large component of a game. And I worked at that company. And I saw everyone from engineers and designers every single day for years working on different facts of this project. And somewhere along the lines investors’ influence caused my portion of the work to get cut from the final product I’d hope to still be included in the credits.

“These are the people who worked hard for nothing.” Poor souls. We would have loved your work.

Why wouldnt they be lol

Considering how many studios cut people out of getting a credit, this is actually quite awesome to see
magvadis
“They tried” section of the credits.
Then they found out that with Red engine…yeah no.

I loved multiplayer in this game tbh
KingDread306
I heard they were working on it again, but as a seperate game.

Was there ever any footage or descriptions of the planned multiplayer released?
During my current playthrough I keep wondering what it was gonna be like. My initial thoughts are *”Not good”*.

I really hope project orion has co-op, it’s the only major thing missing from Cybperunk 2077. I’d spend even more countless hours in Night City/Dogtown if I could play with mates.

I can’t even begin to imagine how toxic the lobbies would be if multilayer was a thing and tbh I think they would make GTAO lobbies look tame in comparison lol
IgnisOfficial
Yep, partially because cutting the credits would be disrespectful to the team who worked on those parts of the game, and also because CDPR was likely at some point considering adding multiplayer functionality after launch once the game was made stable enough
