Cold War shouldn’t be on that list. I understand that the maps aren’t nearly as imaginative as BO3 or BO4, but they *nailed* the mechanics and game feel. Introducing rogue-like metaprogression was a huge deal that let the game evolve and “grow” over time.
The maps were kind of bland, yes. Forsaken is probably the most imaginative of the set, and it pales in comparison to launch maps from BO3 and BO4. But, it is by no means a *bad* game.

Cold war zombies brought enough mechanically to the table that it deserves respect. It created an overarching progression system that kept me engaged and had an interesting enough setup that I was here for it. Still don’t understand why everyone shits on it.

CW has probably the best casual experience but it lacks it’s own character, like it has a kinda bland feeling compared to Black Ops 1, 2 and 3. If they had the quality of life improvements from CW with the level of character from the early games then that’d definitely be a top 3 zombies experience for me.
