They don’t regret making CP2077 game first person

  1. Please allow switching between first and third person. Why be limited to one or the other?

  2. ddubyeah

Have to admit, I wasn’t sold on first person only till I lived it with CP2077. It gives a certain weight to everything you do and arguably makes succeeding in combat feel much more rewarding. Sure, give the plebs the option to see their butt, but build the game around what made CP2077 special.

first person pls, i really liked it that way

  4. No_Tamanegi

I’d love a first person game, but with a fully modeled and animated character that can be seen in reflections.

I would prefer first person with the ability to go thrid for people that want it. Those scenes become so much more tense in first person. An example is in the corpo start, sitting there talking to Jackie and then suddenly corpo goons are looming over you and you are surrounded. Another one is in the dlc during the roulette scene, between watching the twins, to watching for Reed, and then also watching for hostiles and other possible threats. All to eventually see Hansen approaching and thinking “Fuck, i might need to think of an escape plan” It really keeps you connected to whats going on.

I can’t imagine the combat or exploration being nearly as fun in third person.

Would be unfortunate if Orion became a generic third person action RPG à la Ubisoft.

  7. TheDefendingChamp

Please first. Or both person. Just not only third.

  8. empty_other

Buildings and objects and crowds feels so much smaller in third-person games. And alleys need to be wider to fit the camera. I’m not a fan.

But its not like I’m gonna get outraged or sad if they did 3rd person and made it work. It doesnt matter THAT much.

If they did both, one of the views are still gonna become the primary view that the game is gonna be built around, in my experience.

After playing cyberpunk 2077 in first person, i just cant imagine playing the next title in third person, its just burned into my head now.

On the other hand, it would be nice to have third person cutscenes. I missed them after witcher 3. They have a more cinematic feeling, that immerses me more into the story and we could finally see our characters more. They could also pump up the graphics subtantially in the cutscenes, just imagine the possibiltys with unreal 5.

i just don’t care just don’t be another shit fest again and then need another 3 years to “fix” the game

  11. ZynousCreator

I don’t mind the gameplay being first-person, but I hope the custcenes/dialogue are third-person. It would be much more immersive to actually see our characters than how it is now.

  12. Charming_Account_351

I actually wouldn’t mind a third person. I hate spending the effort creating an appearance only to never see it.

  13. Baharroth123

I was so angry to when i heard Cb2022 being a fps but now, i feel like it fit perfectly, some third person cutscenes could be good

  14. Syllosimo

They should just stick with 1st person, 3rd person is bound to bring lots of issues with camera especially in game like this which has lots of buildings and zones dense with objects. And what are the actual benefits of 3rd person besides being able to ogle your ass for whole play through?

I would be fine with cutscenes in 3rd person though

  15. BrazilianAlmostHobo

I want both to be here, they have the budget to do so.

Also… If they are still on concepts this means Cyberpunk 2080 will take at least more 7 years.

  16. Mkhuseli5k

It needs to be first person! Fuck that hybrid perspective nonsense. Put all that effort into making reflections of player character work in real time with first person perspective.

  17. nachodorito

Switchable for fucks sake. We loved witcher 3 in 3rd person

  18. Astro4545

3rd person only would be a huge mistake imo. I’d prefer if they went the Bethesda route and added a switch if they included 3rd person at all.

  19. NightShadow420

    I definitely want a 3rd person option.

After playing RE4R and Elden Ring I want to be able to see the gear on my character.

    The option would be welcomed.

Also, I don’t really like the melee combat as it is much too basic and hard to really see what’s going on since things start and end so quickly.

    I play on hard.

  20. Suter_Templar

Bro, make fallout, 1st person combat, 2rd person for exploration, looking at my drip with the radio on was half the fun of fallout

  21. deltazechs

Just do it like Deus Ex Mankind Divided. That one was perfect. Most of the game you are first person, but when you stick to cover, it becomes 3rd person. Seamlessly swaps back to 1st person when you aim down sights while behind cover. And important cutscenes are third person. The advantage of 3rd person is that it does help with sneaking/stealth gameplay.

  22. Of two minds on this. If the game goes 3rd person maybe it’ll be a kickass crpg like Baldur’s Gate, which would definitely work for Cyberpunk with its tabletop origins. Would have to be a lot deeper than Shadowrun Returns though. On the other hand, Cyberpunk 2077 is immersive af and that might be my favourite thing about it, and a big part of that is seeing through my character’s kiroshis. I feel like staying with 1st person is the safe bet and probably my personal preference because for a CRPG to have broad appeal it’s pretty much required to be groundbreakingly good and at this point I don’t want this franchise to fail.

  23. Why not both? Red Dead Redemption 2 also offers both camera types and work great

  24. SerRodzilla

I liked how you can do it in Fallout 4 first person but convos happen in third person.

  25. Add both 1st and 3rd, a game I can compare to it who have 3rd and 1st person gameplay is Rdr2.

  26. They outta just do both tbh. Bethesdas been doing it for years and CDPR is a much better studio anyways. 🤷‍♂️

  27. I was upset at first that it was first person only but I have to admit…they made the right call. It feels so much more immersive and the combat feels super fluid and intense.

For a game like The Witcher, 3rd person is a must but this game, 1st person is fantastic. I really hope they don’t do a 180 and go 3rd person only on the next game but I imagine they won’t. If they somehow did a toggle between both, that would satisfy everyone but that’s a lot more work.

  28. tempingposter

    First Person was great.

But, if possible, the obvious way to go is to let you choose between First and Third.

  29. SheriffGiggles

3rd person only would be a major deal breaker. Like the moment that’s confirmed I’m out.

  30. rocktbnny

I think they should return to the hybrid mode shown in the early E3 demo: gameplay in first person, with some cutscenes being played in 3rd person. This way you get to keep immersion, whilst also creating more dramatic/cinematic scenes and giving purpose to player customisation
