Me: Hey could I get some recognition from story characters? CDPR: Having them talk down to you is all I can provide choom.

  1. If the enemies were giving the same access to the hacks we have V wouldn’t make it to the Heist tbh, you imagine them spamming you with the same pool of hacks you have instead of just Overheat or Weapon Glitch?

One of the reasons I don’t go netrunner ever. They need netrunner characters to make things possible if your V don’t got good netrunnjng, but then it’s weird if V is a netrunner bc realistically they would just do it themselves.

Having “a certain female character” go in first when breaching a door or having her warn me about drone patrols was just such a shitty “I direct this movie, you just watch it” moment. That REALLY took me out of it. I’m fine with her being capable, but V is the professional merc.

The difference is that V is a combat hacker, the real netrunners like Songbird and others are always jacked into cyberspace when doing their stuff.

Imagine if V was chair bound when playing an intelligence build, that would be the most boring thing ever.

The only thing I wish they kept (or reintroduced) from their early build/idea during development was hacking through the monowire.

That is just another gaming sin that you’ll find in many games.

    * “You have to find an expert for magical things! I know a wise wizard” while you are fully maxed out wizard…
    * “We need a competent hacker for this heist!” while you are a skilled hacker.
    * “Quick! He needs to see a doctor!” While you have all medic perks skilled.
    * “We need to safe the scientist. Only he can understand what we have to do!” while you are super skilled in science.

You will find that in almost every rpg game these days. The MC will never be the expert in anything

It’s like playing a biotic Shepard in mass effect very rarely comes in use during cutscenes, not to mention Shep always has an M8 avenger rifle in cutscenes.

  7. Little tricks are one thing, but if V was a different CP Red archetype the game would be hella different. Imagine real Corpo V with multiple minion agents, or Fixer V hiring mercs like Jagged Alliance. Tech V building iron man suits, Netrunner V diving the net and doing whole missions from a chair.

You’re Solo V because that’s the easy game to make.

  8. TheTwinFangs

You’ll get recognition the day V gets plausible gameplay wise, but some of you definitely won’t like the heavy nerfs

No a 24 years old won’t beat Adam smasher hitting him 3 times with a Dildo just cause he did a few Gig’s and somehow has 20 Body

Or buying a Super experimental Sandy that cannot be countered available at all stores while gameplay wise it could literally reverse the course of the world

You can’t take V at face value in the storytelling otherwise it just get stupid Isekai OP protag, it’s boring as hell

  9. SoggyHotel298

the way reed treats you is always so insane to me, saying how if he wanted to kill me i’d be dead by now, or that i don’t have the skills or experience, blah blah blah. Do you even know who I am? I’ve done things you couldn’t even imagine reed.

I wish we got a proper fight with him. I wanted to gorilla arm his cocky ass into a pulp

V is similar to Geralt in the Witcher where no matter what you specialize in, you’re still just a merc/witcher. Geralt in the Witcher can specialize in magic, but all his spells are usually combat-focused and basically Weenie Hut Jr. versions of what someone like Yen or Triss can do. It doesn’t make him an Archmage.

V can have a 20 in INT, someone like Alt or Songbird probably has like a 40 because all they do is netrun and they’re the absolute best. Even T-Bug or Nix probably have like a 25-30 INT.

  11. nohwan27534

eh, v’s good at like, basic bitch interference hacking.

not the same thing as like, a chair jockey. a level 50, int 20 V doesn’t compare to like, t bug. just different levels of specialization, you’re much more a jack of all trades.

geralt using ‘some’ magic, and potentially very well, compared to an actual sorceress, might be apt. you’re never hired to crack ice so deep it needs hours. you get someone to do that for you…

  12. Nimeroni

She have a LOT more range than you do. V is a monster in combat, but can V hack datafortress ? Help a merc while >!on a place that is going down!< ? Hack the >!relic to add top of the line Militech bullshit!< ? Or, you know, just getting some intel ? Go beyond (major spoiler) >!the Black wall!< ?

V is good at what (s)he do, but ultimately (s)he’s laser focused on combat.

  13. They really keep treating you like a bady so many times

  14. Helphaer

I mean you probably couldn’t break into any actual systems since the netrunning we do in game is nothing like real netrunning like T-Bug or such did. I would have much preferred a visual interface pre-attack in cyber or just cybre focus only.

  15. OKLISTENHERE

Netunning is really such a wasted idea in CP, and it only got worse with the removal of Breach. Holding tab and selecting from a list doesn’t feel like hacking at all.

  16. Pistonenvy2

hacking a personal is a lot different than hacking a huge buildings server room.

its the difference between being an infantryman and a drone operator.
