So I’m trying to install a new gpu into my Dell Optiplex but this cord is blocking it.

Is this safe to unplug/do I need it?? And if I can’t unplug it how to do I use my new gpu???

The jokes are funny, but does anyone have any actual advice about the gpu or no?

What is the cable plugged into on the other end?

  6. It’s a front audio connector. You can usually check the motherboard layout in a corresponding pdf file for your optiplex model

Holy mother of god, why there is a big hole

Unplug it. It’s probably the audio, or maybe USB, and is most likely fine to remove if you don’t use the front ports. Problem might be having the GPU so close to PSU. You can undervolt, and/or maybe rig a fan to help with that.

If you are not sure after unplugging take some pics of the connectors, and board.

Did a bomb go off in the back of your pc?

What’s the point of the hole? Why not disconnect the cable and try that first before posting this? You mutilated the poor thing for no reason

It’s for front panel audio. If you don’t use headphones or a mic from the front audio jacks, just unplug it. Nice GPU gloryhole. I also use artillery to mod my poor OptiPlex’s

Looks like your rear io shield is blocking part of the back of your pc.

Something unholy happend to your case 💀

  15. It’s either usb port or audio/mic jack for the front of pc

  16. I get concerned about pulling a cable out too hard and dislodging it, meanwhile OP uses the same tool they use in car accidents to free trapped people to make way for a GPU.

And stop complaining people don’t put effort into showing what the problem is in detail!

Take an angle grinder to it and find out, you’ve already hit the rest of the chassis.
