The hacking minigame in Cyberpunk 2077 never felt particularly difficult, but it’s cool to see there’s an option to highlight mapping for anyone who struggles with pattern recognition or have pathing difficulties.

  1. We are inattentive together then, because I just realised that too.

After 3 playthrough i haven’t noticed so thanks

  3. I’m still not sure I 100 percent understand the rules of the hacking minigame. I can always get the best reward, usually the two best, but rarely all three.

300 hours and i only know it from of your post 😛

I just noticed this yesterday, and I have played since the original launch. I still don’t know all the rules of the mini game. Also, I think some routers or devices are purposefully more difficult. A Swedenborg router is far more difficult than any prior and none of my perks seems to apply when trying to hack it. I’m at the end of the quest and can’t finish because I’m just not good enough.

Been playing since release, finished the game twice before 2.0 and I’m just learning about this. Fuck… lol

I have well over 300 hours and have probably done over 1000 breach protocols and never seen or knew this, how do you do this??

160 hours in. 100% the game before 2.0 came out. I just learned about this…

After half a dozen playthroughs, I get tired of these mini games, and just downloaded the Breacher App for my phone.

It solves the puzzle for you in less than a second and you can just bop the buttons. I think of it like a piece of my cyberware kit/tools. just a handy decoding device. 🙂

180h in, and you just made me realise. I always just did it manually lmao

  13. I’ve always mapped it out in my head. It’s not that easy for y’all?

You are so late, I found this on my fourth playthrough

So for those that wonder, prior to the update there was a perk that automatically got you the first reward and a different perk that reduced the length by 1. These together with a 8 or 9 length buffer made it difficult to not get all three lines. Now there is a possibility that getting all three is impossible.

  16. SNAKEXRS

The buffer is tied to your cyberdeck. In this case pictured he has 5. It would only be possible to do all 3 if there is overlap in a digit, so for example the 1st and 3rd line both start with 55. By entering 55 you’ve fulfilled 2 slots with 1 entry. The better the cyberdeck the more buffer you have allowing much more mistakes or just longer sequences.

Can you post a pic of this in the conspiracy reddit so ppl know there’s no FF, 06, or B5 in a hacking grid.

  18. AndyBuncie

ooh thanks reddit for someone who complete Cyberpunk once so far i just learned this now..

  19. Atsubaki

Wait…the fuck seriously…I didn’t know that… I just did it in my head before i went full send.

That’s why I miss Breach Protocol on enemies so bad. If you’re good at these kinds of puzzles you could consistently stack 3+ at high levels with the right cyberdecks. It helped balance the fights since the downside of going full int/tech was that you didn’t really have any points in weapon skills.

Ditch hacking altogether and join the sandevistan gang

  22. Lol, same I had no idea about this on my first play through

  23. I’ve always thought it was a good system. It’s quick and painless. You’ve got one shot and that’s it. You can choose to go for the easy ones or plan ahead for the more difficult ones.

It doesn’t slog the game down. It just serves as a small distraction where you kinda choose the difficulty on your own.

  24. it’s a shame that now time is capped at 30 seconds
