You joke, but canonically speaking this might actually be true. The upper half of his body that was left after Smasher blew the rest off is frozen in Angel’s basement, I think Mike confirmed that it’s like a Marvel death sort of thing where nobody ever actually 100% verified his status, so GMs can have flexibility on whether or not he’s actually dead dead.
