“Boomer shooter” is a recent video game genre term used to describe contemporary games that exist as throwbacks to the Doom-inspired era of first-person shooters where speed and firepower are everything. Phantom Fury is not the first game to explore this playground, and it likely won’t be the last, but playing the demo left a good first impression. The visuals are cool, the shooting feels good, and protagonist Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison is not afraid to throw out a good one-liner when the mood strikes her.
Phantom Fury is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC sometime this year.

Honestly this didn't do it for me. It felt very clunky and tedious to play. At least Aftershock is coming out tomorrow!

Phantom Fury looks like it's reviving that old-school shooter spirit we love.
Such ODD commentary, the comparisons and descriptions sound soo off-base to what I'm seeing, calling this like "Doom" when it doesn't look even remotely close to what Doom is classic or modern, a mad max/road trip movie?
Also, came out of nowhere? WTF are you talking about? the announcement trailer was a year a go and the 1st game was like 4 years ago with a beta demo!
Played the demo, and it is absolutely awful. Much more work needs to be done on the game.
