Hey guys, long time lurker finally making a post, looking to “mod” my Strix 6900XTXH, really I want to try populating the empty spots, maybe replace/upgrade the caps, etc. I repair/rebuild/mod high end Class D/AB/H competition audio amplifiers for a living so this can’t be that different …right? …lol, obviously I’m joking that’s why I’m posting. Never modded a GPU before but I’m about to finish my loop (waiting on 2nd PE Rad) and would like to start planning on populating all the empty spots on my GPU eventually for signal/power delivery clarity, etc after some intial “stock” testing with my EK block w/liquid metal & 13w/mK pads to compare with.
I know they were deemed “unnecessary” by Asus but if I can help it run “smoother/better/etc” by any amount I’m all for it. My precision solder skills & equipment are on point, just never attempted anything on a GPU, prolly not the GPU to start with but I’m confident I can easily handle this “simple” process of basically repopulating/upgrading the caps, I just need help know what to put where, or what to upgrade what with what. Doubt I’ll find a schematic for this PCB, but I know some of you are like secret dungeon lab madman who know their shit, AHCO comes to mind 😅 but ya, any help or info would be appreciated.
