A game like cyberpunk can look good but not on a handheld. Because the display is too small for this wonderful game. This is an insult to this game.

They have done well optimizing it for the deck
ketzuken
Try local Moonlight stream. Full Ray Tracing 1200p and 60 fps.
East-Perception-6530
Once you understand that resolution changes performance drastically it’s not that amazing, but I grew up with a Gameboy so what impressed me is the ability to finally game-on-the-go with no gimmicks. Its as close as we have to a gaming portable gaming PC
PADDYPOOP
What FPS you got?
InsydeOwt
Looks
Bad actually.
Lol
Borgmaster
Im running a new fresh start and the diner scene in the beginning of act 2 really sold me on it. Everything was great. Obviously it has some hiccups but really i dont notice them most of the time on the smaller screen. If i project it though its gonna get gritty.

Installed it on my Ally a couple days ago, haven’t had a chance yet to try it out

Looks even better on GFN 4090 tier

I did notice that after 2.0 the game was better optimised. I run this game on a laptop since like 2 months after launch, and it’s not really the most powerful laptop. It used to be pretty laggy in some areas of the city, but now it rarely lags and when it does it’s not that bad, it runs pretty smooth for most of the gameplay.
TheGrindPrime
It runs well, but the font is ridiculously small, so not a fan of playing it on Deck.

How the fk does it work on hand held but it’s hot garbage on ps4… Is steam deck in such a small form factor really better than a ps5?
Sabbathius
Optimization is a lost art these days. Back in the olden days, we had all these tricks. Like you could code something, and it ran fine. Then you hand it over to optimization team, and they take that, and improve the speed by 30%. Hardly anyone does that these days, almost everyone prefers to just brute force it through newest hardware instead.

Could you just get nvidia GeForce now subscription and get even better performance? I’m not too familiar with Steam Deck and its hardware capabilities
App1elele
Meanwhile MK1 on switch:

Is steam deck actually running this on a local GPU or is this just remote control streaming over internet?
Vegetable-Rub3418
Is this the switch?
DifficultyVarious458
Maybe Steamdeck 2 or handheld device that has Frame Generation.
thebluegod
Yes! Playing this way makes it feel like I’m living in the future. I get a solid 30FPS and the game looks pretty great for a handheld.
Plus with cloud save I can easily pick up where I left off on PS5!
KillerOkie
yeah, too bad currently the Steam Deck support is hosing regular desktop Proton because of the current build insisting to display gamepad control icons even when you don’t have a controller plugged in.
Dub_J
How does it compare to ps5? Man maybe this is what will make me get one.
UnsureAssurance
That reminds me of those mobile game ads that have insane graphics which misrepresent the actual game which is probably a 2D candy crush rip off
BurroinaBarmah
Looks even better on the Ally. The SD is freakin sweet though, I still can’t believe it can run cyberpunk. Just goes to show you what optimization can do.
