I accidentally booted into BIOS this morning because Windows delivered a BIOS firmware update. So I started messing around with the EZ Tuning / OC Tuner stuff, obviously my CPU clocked higher but it was constantly running 1.4-1.45V to vcore and my PC sounded like a jet turbine with the temps hovering at 90-100.
I have a Noctua NH-U12A to cool my CPU, which obviously isn’t optimal for overclocking but the EZ Tuner sparked my interest, so I read some articles/guides and watched a video or two and came up with an OC that should hopefully give me better performance in my current main game, Escape From Tarkov. The game likes CPU Cache (AMD’s x3D CPUs run it very well) and it was mentioned in one of the videos I watched that if I disable the E-Cores I can OC the cache “rings(?)” further.
So I fiddled around a bit and this is what I came up with:

**E-Cores -** Disabled
**LLC -** Level 4
**P-Core OC Ratio:**
**1-Core -** 51
**2-4-Cores -** 50
**5-8-Cores -** 49
**Ring Ratio -** Min 48 | Max 48
**Actual VRM Core Voltage – Manual Mode – CPU Core Voltage Override:** 1.27V
**Multi-Core Enhancement -** Enabled.
**Rest is set to** Auto **or otherwise left untouched.**
I’m mostly curious about how setting the core voltage works because it doesn’t seem to be reflected on the VID in HWinfo when I lower or raise it.
Based on what I’ve mentioned, is there anything I’ve missed that I should also change?
Could I be breaking something by setting a manual override of voltage while the cores are requesting voltage above that limit?
How come the Ring clock isn’t running at the ratio set in BIOS?
The SA VID voltage at 1.404 seems very high, is that something I should be changing?
This is my first time overclocking, so I’m fairly clueless, and every CPU being different aswell as every mobo having a different BIOS is making it hard to find information that I can directly apply. I’m hoping for some wisdom from you guys :p
Thanks
