You know at first I wasn’t sold on Sasha Grey as the DJ on growl. I thought her delivery was a bit flat and unconvincing. But when I was playing earlier I jumped in a car and growl was on the radio and Sasha was talking about some killings that happened that some corpos did or something and she was going off calling people motherfuckers and cunts and all this shit. She was proper pissed and it really sold me.
Growl FM is solid. Love the variety. Congrats to the contest winners.
Growl fm is my go-to this playthrough, I love it! Pacific dreams was what I went with before. Cruising around night city listening music is so chill and relaxing. No other game does that for me like cyberpunk.
I just wish the volume was turned up. I can hardly hear anything and I haven’t heard the DJ speak once.
On console and I wish there was earbuds in the came to continue listening to the radio on foot. Digging Growl FM for sure.

I can’t stop listening to Growl FM to be honest. Fumes has to be my favourite song so far and funny enough it’s the one I heard the most. There’s only 1 song I heard on Growl FM that I didn’t vibe with and that was the one with all the screaming in it, maybe I’m just getting old but I’m not really into all the growling and screaming which is why I hate Ritual FM and never listen to it in game. (Funny enough, my V’s apartment radio is stuck on Ritual FM and since they broke it, I can’t switch stations so I gotta turn on the TV to force the radio off every time I go back home)
GrowlFM has really good music. It’s my main station now
I absolutely love the new station but i hate that rap song, it just feels like someone wrote a rap and inserted cyberpunk words every few lines so it feels super out of place
I will say, aside from some relatively standout tracks, I’m quite surprised that there wasn’t really a strong showing from modern heavy bass music in the game’s OST. To me, there is a profound lack of Drum n’ Bass in general. To an extent, I also would’ve expected more Future Bass or melodic dubstep tracks from artists like Xilent or groups like Nero (The Darkness, Reaching Out, respectively). Tracks like Far and High from Dr. Ozi evoke the exact kind of feeling of a dystopian setting (with a culture clash of East meets West) the games touch on, but probably don’t match Night City’s culture well enough.
There’s also a lack of that experimental late 90s rap that specifically spoke to the kind of crisis late stage capitalism depicted in 2077 (Deltron 3030 being king of the subject in my mind). *Madness* from that project would absolutely pair well with Night City while *3030* would probably fit a different city better.
I find it interesting that, while Synthwave was styled as “too clean” for the setting, the kind of sound you’d find on something like Never Say Die’s Black Label were also absent. They wanted grime, but not muck, I guess you could say.
I’m loving the music that actually sounds like it was written by someone in Night City, not just an artists already written song. Feels like it fits more.
It always felt weird to me that there was barely any Japanese music on the radio with how heavily Japanese NC is and they fixed that too.
How do I fix my audio when driving? I mostly just hear the car and other noises barely ever the radio.

There’s a jpop or Kpop song there that I really like. The other station with the dj sets is pretty awesome too. Nothing like driving from the badlands to the heart of night city while tech house blares in the background.
