Did they make his boss fight more difficult? I usually just shoot him in that cutscene and haven’t done the boss fight since the game released in 2020 and I don’t remember it being as difficult as it was yesterday when I fought him.

Was it possible not to kill him? I went 3 times through this quest, 2 times fought him later upon exit and 1 time I just blew his head immediately.

I’ve never, ever not blown his brains out with a dialogue choice. It’s the one constant in the Cyberpunk multiverse, Royce dies in a cutscene second after he first appears.

I’ve never ever let him live. I always mean to try a different playthrough, but he’s such a dick during the negotiation, I just kinda *have to* kill him.
Got him with the old “boom” voice line this time around, side stepped the whole fight. Even glad I did it now

I did a run before 2.0, like, days befoer where I just bought the flathead and left. Paid out of pocket, and Dumdum talks about how he likes Royce because Royce is chaotic and you never know what he’s going to do. He could thank you, kill you, anything’s possible any moment with Royce. It was then I decided Royce never lives, that’s an awful leader for a major gang, he’ll just make Watson worse, which is an impressive feat sure, but impressively bad
