I just want to tell everyone that there’s hella spoilers so I don’t recommend watching it.
That was a great watch!
Very interesting and informative. The bit about the daily death threats to devs after Cyberpunk launch was known, but nonetheless disheartening to revisit. Today’s the big day. Reviews will be coming out. I’m sure the team are eagerly awaiting the final scores. I wish them all the best.
I already had an extremely poor opinion of Patrick Mills. Yet he managed to sink it even lower. Completely oblivious to his own contradictions, which, as usual, he dismisses as poetic irony. Patrick seems to think being aware of the irony magically solves the contradiction and hypocritical behaviour. Patrick, why don’t you start your own indie studio, risk your own money, with your own perfect egalitarian rules, and fight the good quixotic fight against whichever windmills trouble your existence? Put your money where your mouth is. Or is the AC at CDPR’soffice too comfy to let go of?
Where is the diversity of thought? Do all, or most, CDPR devs think like Patrick? So it’s an ideological monolith? Why is it that only same old same old subsection of devs with certain strong political views speak up? Why do those opinions always, *always* lean in the same direction? Where is the fabled diversity?
I thought Patrick’s Tweets were terrible takes, for the most part. In front of an open mic, he’s far worse.
That was like a deep dive in to the devs Psyche, really rooting for them.
