The thing is that most of the guides about how to get the secret ending are outdated and they didn’t care about updating them with the right informations.
could it be possible that it got patched? I refuse to believe nobody even tested it back in the day.
Guides I’ve read say you either have to have the enough relationship or pick specific dialogue choices during his side quest.
40% is all it takes, with the correct dialog options at the oil field, 100% agree.

It’s always been being indecisive, just people keep insisting on it being the percentage. What the percentage does is affect how the scene in Mikoshi goes in how Johnny reacts. Or V reacts if Johnny is in control of the body.
Isn’t the main thing the quest about Johnny’s grave and the dialog choices in this quest?
you basically only need to choose 2 dialogues and doing the rogue side quest where you go to the movie theaters
I reached 60% with him and didn’t get the ending.
To clear up any misunderstanding, Yes only the dialog matters and choosing the correct answers will net 10% more reputation with Johnny.
However, if you complete all of Johnny’s quest and answer these questions correctly, you will end up with 70%. But since you aren’t required to do all of these remaining missions before meeting Hanako at embers, it means you can still access the secret ending as long as you answered correctly.
Achieving 70% and answering those questions correctly do go hand in hand as you would never reach 70% otherwise. And it still serves as a great reference point if you don’t remember if you answered correctly since you can complete all of Johnny’s quest then check to see if you have 60% or 70%.
Not relevant to the secret ending, but how do you even get 100% and what does it change? Is there even any dialogue changes that acknowledge you’re BFF’s with Johnny, or is the percentage just random shit?
