Yesterday I blew the hell up with notifications from my poll about the asian maps atmosphere and my meme making fun of the Shangri-la is on Mars Theory. I had all my notifications on Reddit be sent as an email and Jesus Christ I had a lot of emails this morning. Anyway I said in that part that I was open to my mind changing and it was. I had never heard the idea that it is the Himalayas and on mars and teleports back and forth fusing each areas landscape together. That explains a lot like the people, water, trees, and even the oxygen being linked to earth via the portal. However a lot of you guys points were kinda bad, even now that I think it is sometimes on mars, I don’t agree with some of your arguments for it. There were a few big things that I missed with the map somehow, like when I play I usually turn the volume down and listen to music and even playing the EE I’ll turn the game volume down to talk to teammates. Even when watching the EE speed run I never noticed that the sound cue for the eclipse mode is literally just a teleporter noise. And idk if it’s my TV settings or just how my brain saw it but the map has always looked beige to me, at least the dirt, but look at that picture that is very martian red to me. It also makes sense to me because Shangri-la is a mythical place like El Dorado, or Olympus so it would make sense to not have it just be in a spot in Tibet and have it be really hard to find because well it’s not always there. Plus it’s just cool to play a map that transends space and time hopping back and forth between planets rather than it simply being tucked away in the Himalayan mountains somewhere.
