Any tips for a first time building beyond the videos I’ve been watching would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Kekashismask, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/gamingpc) if you have any questions or concerns.*

    I mean… The pricing is similar…

  3. I just built my first PC a month ago. Had an experienced person walk me through it. A few things I remember

    1) the components are not as fragile as you might think. Seating the RAM and the graphics card, and getting the CPU lever in place took more force than I expected.

    2) get the motherboard manual out and reference it a lot. Don’t guess. There are lots of connection points. If you put something in the wrong place, it’s guaranteed to not work.

    3) do your eating and drinking far away from your nice cleared work table. This will likely take some time and you don’t want to rush it or spill something on your fancy new PC.

    4) don’t make everything neat and tidy and closed up in the case before you test turning it on. If something doesn’t work (which is normal on the first time through), you don’t wanna have to undo everything to troubleshoot.

    Good luck!

Be sure to put your I/O Shield into the case before you install your motherboard.

Don’t panic if it wouldn’t turn on with attempt 1. Stay cool. That’s the main point. And for sure pay attention for the order. RAM and SSD easier to place before CPU cooler. Don’t forget to properly place motherboard shield.

Btw nice parts! But I bet you will run out of storage soon. 512Gb is really low.
