I just built an entirely new rig, coming from an i9-9900k to a 13900k, and haven’t touched any clock speeds on this new rig. My old one was OC’d to 4.9ghz manually across all cores. My new one is hitting 5.7ghz automatically under load.

Now the question: I threw on Cinebench and got the score you see in the picture… how on earth is it performing better than threadrippers? Am i just reading my score of 38,763 wrong? Does Cinebench give conservative competitive scores to make you feel better? Is this score normal, or did I get a golden chip or something?

Because IPC improvements are a thing. Your 13900k is much newer than the 2990wx which I believe is 5ish years old now.
