From the “IX” cinematic intro cutscene, we can assume the events that take place weren’t The Order’s first attempt at completing the Ra Trial. They take Gladiators and have them complete the trial for them, and then [in DMZ (MW2022) terms] *Exfil camp* the “Sentinel Artifact”.
As seen in “Voyage of Despair” & “Ancient Evil” commencing a Trial stops time (albeit in a limited range), and it’s stuck until the trial is complete.
So if The Order is actively trying to complete the trial via unlucky contestants, how are they cancelling the trial if the contestants fail?
They obviously don’t complete it, Perseus.. a literal demigod & his men couldn’t complete Zeus’ trial.
So.. what do they do? I doubt IX’ showcased trial was their first attempt, the trial can’t just be cancelled, and they’re obviously not capable of completing it (because then they wouldn’t need contestants). Just a thought I had. Is it explained anywhere?
