Go use it on a bunch of Tiger Claws, they have active smart gun jammers. Oda does too. 😋

For me smartguns are helpful side weapons if you don’t plan to stick much into guns (perk-wise) or of you concentrate on slow-firing precision and situations get too heated to aim carefully.
Or for persons like me who suck at their aim. (I’m no hardcore FPS gamer and more in for the story)
Also the smartguns are usually limited in another way (often fire rate and/or damage). My favorite rifle, the Ashura, is certainly outright unfair as a smart sniper rifle… but the reload is crazy long (without mods and perks) and the damage is… just ok compared to some alternatives. Also… the range is usually limited. A good aim helps you doming a far away enemy with the Neko… with the ‘shura you are still more or less limited to the range of the target lock.
Also some smart weapons are just ridiculously rare to find, if you don’t get a recipe and print them yourself.

Smart weapons are in the game for people who like RPGs but aren’t good at FPS gameplay. I remember that being the stated intent prelaunch. They have lower effective DPS vs. Power and Tech weapons, but guarantee hits.
BradyReas
I never use them so I suppose I agree
Codezero20xx
Eh, lower damage and range, lower skill floor and a good aim or ricochet build leaves them in the dust for damage. They end up being some of the weaker weapons in late game but I can’t help but like them, the concept and execution is just fun.
KitsuneDrakeAsh
Sounds like a you problem, I simply choose to use them sparingly.
aclark210
Hence why I never use them.

To me smart weapons make assault rifles and SMGs less of a waste of ammo. I prefer shotguns and sniper rifles, and can’t hit the broadside of a barn with anything automatic, but smart weapons change that.
VapidPastiche
Have you tried netrunning?
ZeekwithaZ
Technically each gun type gets to a point where you never have to aim. Power weapons, aim at wall or floor.Smart weapons aim at air, tech weapons aims at wall. I guess tech weapons you still have to be on target but still.
CattleSerious7258
The game is supposed to be hard ? I used differents playstyle and all of them were powerful. But the game was never hard.

Yeah. They’re the weakest guns and miss more than half their shots lol
bluebadge
Smart weapons are cool and all except the handful of enemies that have jammers and that they do crap for damage even when fully upgraded. Power weapons and tech plus Sandivistan, that’s the real sauce.
maegol
These and legendary daemons let you not interact with combat mechanics which trivialices the game and makes it un intereting. I personally avoid both mechanics at all cost
Jadewing20
I have scrapped every smart weapon I’ve gotten except Skippy
rzm25
Yeah until you get to the final missions and a bunch of ‘asaka mercs jump out a moving vehicle and all your shots start missing
AC_Lerock
Yes. I had a low level smart sniper rifle and I just popped dudes left and right. The gun itself made me feel like a cheater.
Getindarobotshinji
I also don’t love smart guns, I like the idea of them but they rip up most of the game without even trying. I usually go melee+ sandy and I have a lot of fun with that, I also like pistol builds
Craiss
I never really did much with the smart weapons. I play on PC and the combat is pretty easy, even with raised difficulty.
I used Skippy for the entertainment value but never felt any real value from the smart part so I switched back to bloody punching gorilla-mode.
GhostOfSinjar
They usually deal low damage anyway so I never use them
JohnnySasaki2
They do but playing with Skippy is fun although I wish he had more dialogue and a potential mission into how he became to be.
The same can be said about a netrunner build, and a sandy/blade build. At some point in the game, combat becomes too easy.
JimmyCrabYT
man i don’t even use guns i just smack em with mantis blades
yomnot
I think the smart weapons aren’t that good. They don’t deal a lot of damage, range isn’t as ARs like Moron Labe and the burns thorough the bullet too fast. They’re good sidearms and good is some cases but not in general
TizzlePack
Everything makes the game to easy lol
SquirrelTeamSix
Everything makes this game too easy

i almost exclusively use katanas tbh i hate smart weapons
Strong-Ad-8381
I don’t like them, they feel super weak and I like Guts too much 🙂
Arn_Darkslayer
I don’t know if it is any easier than power weapons that shoot through walls.
RickCityy
No because I SUCK at shooting anything else and I cannot figure out why lol I play a lot of FPS but just cannot seem to get this one down
DiceCubed1460
I always use Pistol builds. They’re too OP. With overture and pistol perks, you can oneshot anything except Smasher with pistol headshots.
TrippySubie
Smart weapons when i played suuuuucked
Za_Lords_Guard
I generally prefer non-smart weapons, but watching 9 homing missiles from that smart shorgun chase a target is amusing as hell.

Should name the gun “angry hornet.”
